Has anyone ever tried this ? I just did lst and now I have multiple tops . Now I want to untie my plants so they can get taller and have bigger tops. My question now is can I top those tops to create more branching, what will this do ?

You can do it but you will have to veg longer to give the topped branches recovery time. Could extend your veg time 2-4 weeks or more. You will end up with a very bushy plant though if that's what your after. Make sure you have a lot of room. Good luck.

If you're growing 9 plants in a 4x4 space, you don't want them bushing out too much. I'd suggest LST and then topping maybe once or twice at the most.

Why do you say that ? I thought more tops the better ? And plus I'm trying to fill the whole tray up inch by inch with colas and remove anything that's not touching the top . What size should I flip the plants to get a grahm per watt cause that's what I'm going for ?

I top or train to get multiple tops and then tie those down at the start of flower.
Here's a plant I currently have running from the day she was taken out of veg and put into her flowering pot until today, http://imgur.com/a/n5aqW
Here's one from the run before that doesn't start until like a week into 12/12 so you can't see how she was trained. http://imgur.com/a/cyhqR I need to reupload some of the older photos and edit the album, she yielded a touch over a qp and took up less than 2sqft of space.

That is 3 plants in a 4x4 space (well 4 but the 4th is a small re veg up front on the left), all were topped once and one was lst'd, 9 plants in that space
with that method is too much. Airflow really becomes an issue. de foliage & lolipoping might help
if you're into that sort of thing.
