I'm growing dutch passions Blueberry which is the plant that is trained and TH seeds Buku which has been left to grow naturally. Both are growing in 5 gallon smart pots with a mix of Fox farm ocean forest soil and a local hydro shop's organic peat and perlite. They are growing in a cabinet under blackstar's new chrome series LED ( the 4 spot model) with supplemental CFL and a grow spot all red bloomboost led spotlight.
The plants are currently two weeks into flowering after a 4 week veg.
the blueberry was tied down and had her main top trimmed FIM style

Here is a quick summary of the Blueberry's growth with Low Stress Training

If you haven't seen the new blackstar chrome yet, i'm sure you seen something similar but here is the light i'm using

Btw this is my 1st grow of photo period plants ever, i've got one grow of autoflowering under my belt. this is also my 1st attempt at LST and FIM so if a newb like me can get good results from FIM and LST anyone can! either method should work well depending on the strain your using ( some strains don't take well to topping so do your research) . but i wouldn't say both methods should be used together. thou it seemed to work here well.

Subbed. Thank you Mr President for the show. What's the wattage on that thing anyway? Do they have lenses?

Not on the website yet but if u call the store they are selling them in 4, 6, and 8 spot models. The lenses are designed for better penetration. I'm not sure of actual wattage draw.

Hi PD. Thanks for doing this grow! Always fond of Blueberry myself. :blsmoke:

Yes, it looks like both Led-Star and Luyizhi have their own version of the 'black star':

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/534615068/135w_Led_Black_Star_Led_Grow.html

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/516057983/full_spectrum_180W_60_3w_black.html

These are all customizable in small quantities, of course. Looks like your particular model has 8 x 630nm, 4 x 660nm, 2 blue and 1 white LEDs in them.

A quick search for "black star grow led 4g 60*3w" will pull up a few of 'em. The manufacturers are getting smart now and stuffing 'brand names' into multiple listings of the same product for SEO (and sales) purposes.

Luyizhi's 4G Section has a lot of 'em, too.

Whether it's the original factory or a knockoff, there's probably not much quality difference, at those prices. Hope you get what you paid for!

Cheers,

-TL

View attachment 2100963View attachment 2100964blueberry is filling out nicely but i don't think she's going to be a colored pheno, it gets down to 64 degrees F on some of the cooler days with lights off and no signs of purple or blue yet
View attachment 2100965View attachment 2100966buku is just trying to catch up but looks nice she's almost 30 inches now and i've just tied her top to angle it more under the main light and to help control any more stretch since my bb is staying lower

so my buku tried to hermi on me, my fault really i know this strain is prone to this issue and i let humidity in cab stay around 62% but i looked her over really good and the only male flower trying to pop was on a lil branch i snipped off since it was growin close to the main stem and totally shaded so i think lack of light had something to do with it as well, i'm going to watch her close but won't pull her unless really need be since i've only got the two plants and i'm this far in.

otherwise my buku looks good
