This is my first grow I recently topped my 2 plants and then after some recovery time I tried my hand at some lst. I tried using garden wire to pin them down but it was a huge hassle and every time I went to visit my tent they had popped back up already. So now I have a lot of inconsistant leafage on my plants, is that bad?? Also where should I go from now ? I want to continue to lst but I don't want to damage all the random leafage inside the plant. Let me know what you think, all tips are extremely helpful. I'm still getting used to working with the plants so please no unnecessary comments.

Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and feared medicines!!!

The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.

It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!

In a previous grow, I took some wooden skewers and tied them together with rubberbands. Then I spread them out to make an upside down 'V' shape and stuck them into the soil bending my plants beneath them....here is a pic of how they looked at about 1 month or so...

A little trick I discovered myself which I think is common is, tie the top main stem and gently pull her down slowly and tie her to the side of the pot. And those side shoots will shoot out doubling your colas. If you try this, make sure you tie between the node before you get to the top. And also, make sure the tie around the stem is loose some to prevent choke on the stem. Check from time to time to make sure the tie isn't too tight. You don't have to pinch the main cola for the sides to shoot out. The main cola will also remain a cola. But seniority will (redirect) be passed to the side branches. Then when sides shoot out long enough you do the same with those. And then pinch each one. This is just something that worked for me. But you will need to be ready to tame them girls. They will rule your grow area space quickly and have you scrambling...lol. But as the much experienced grower said, splurge in the gnosis of cannabis cultivation. Get the knowledge and convert it into wisdom of growing. Oh yea, you do have a ways to go bro. So be very adamant on obtaining success. And stand up to all mistakes and be ready to improvise if necessary. Good Growin.

That is exactly where I was going with that particular grow and then they turned all Kaitlyn Jenner on me. I have used the identical method you mentioned and had great success. I used the skewers at first to avoid putting too much stress on the young stems. When they were getting strong enough to pull the skewers up and out of the soil, I switched to the tie-down method.
