I didn't think it would be this confusing! Please refer to the spectrograph in my previous post.

Total Lux (lumens) at 5A = 27348lm
Total PAR at 5A = 610 PPE

If you multiply 27348 by 0.015 you get 410 PPE.

You now have a PPE reading that is 46% less than the actual PPE output of 610 PPE.

Can we all agree that 610 is 46% more than 410?

Good. The reason the margin of error is not 31% is because you did not calculate 610 when the actual figure was 410. You calculated 410 when the real figure was 610. If your universal conversion factor was 0.022 when the real conversion factor was 0.015 then it would be a 31% margin of error.

All in all, it's an interesting spectrum but what's the impact on the plants. Bugbee has demonstrated what I refer to as the "blue photon" penalty where yield drops off when cannabis is exposed to > 4% blue in flower. That's one of the reasons why I went with separate veg and flower grow lights. Maybe they're seeing that terpenes and cannabinoids increase enough to offset the loss in yield?
The problem with the Bugbee trial is that they used different light sources to increase the amount of blue but those light sources also decreased the amount of Far Red. Bugbee even states that part of the decrease in yield was due to the decrease in Far Red. The 3000K white had more yield than the white + red but they both had 10% blue. But the 3000K white had 5% Far Red and white + red only had 2% Far Red.
