Luxor Hoods (They've Been Out For A While Now) - Anyone Have Firsthand Experience?

It did well on a test here:

http://www.greners.com/reflector-test.html
I won't pretend to know what all the numbers in their tests mean so it's
hard to tell if the hood is that good or the test is completely biased, any input?

These look pretty sweet. They've been out for a while and I can't find
a single report on them:( Google has turned up nothing except for a few
posts on forums where people are asking if they are any good or not. Has
anyone used one, had a friend that used one, or have any other experience
with these things?

Thanks,

Yea these hoods are huge i saw one at the local hydro store , but sunlight supply is a good company so i dont see it being a fail. But it also is a little costy so its out of my price range for just a hood

The price is a little high for my tastes but there is less than a
$20 price difference between these and the Magnum XXXL 8"
hoods that I'm also considering. It just stinks that I can't find
a single real world report on these.

looking to get myself a sunlight hood myself... the blazer 6" ...
I have several and they are excellent.

I have also looked at the Luxor hoods, which appear to be state of the art. They are damned expensive, though, and very tall. Unless you have at least 8' of ceiling hight to work with, I think you should pass.

I have a Luxor. It's a BEAST. Big and heavy. But it throws a great light pattern. I really like it.

They are supposed to be designed in such a way as to reduce grow room heat. In my case, I can't say for sure because this is my first grow.

My grow room is 3'8" x 3'8" x 8', and I'm using a 600-watt HPS. I'm also using a 636 CFM fan to cool the hood and vent the room. And my grow room temps stay only 2 degrees Fahr above the outer room. From what I've read, this is very unusual. A 600-watt bulb in such a small grow room is usually kind of difficult to cool. So maybe the Luxor does have a design feature that reduces grow room heat.

I wonder about the test in the link. A Magnum XXL is designed for a bigger footprint. Would this be taken into account? I like these Luxors, however. The look high effective with the design
