(M)aerogarden Mixed Strain Grow Questions

Hi all-
Been anxiously following the threads on the Aerogarden and I want to pick one up, along with a stealth grow cab and maybe a better light too (we'll see.) My main question in the planning stages is this: I want to experiment with different strains/seeds. I'd like to get a labeled sampler pack, like the one available from Female Seeds brands w/ 3 each of five indoor strains, or maybe make my own from various feminized strains available in small 4 or 5 seed packs. NL, Lowryder II, Skunk Special, Grapefruit (if I can find), Chronic, etc...

However, I'm concerned if the flowering stages of each plant vary a good bit from others in the same Aerogarden. For instance, if I grow a fem Northern Lights next to a fem Cinnamon (which is mostly Sativa) and one is supposed to flower 7-8 weeks, the other 8-9, will this be an issue all in one Aerogarden? I know those periods may not be accurate anyway in aeroponics, but I'm more concerned if some strains were to flower at faster rates then others, how would I accomplish giving them only pure water for the last period before chopping? Wouldn't this hurt any plants that still need a few weeks of flowering (those that are slower to finish)? Ideally I'd like to grow five or so different strains, all fems, to get a feel for what I prefer for future grows, but I wonder if this will be problematic to manage growth periods, or will most be similar enough not to worry about?

i like it but. i really love the way that you write fem everywhere.. i am so not being deconstructive i promise but we all assume (and hope)that you are growing females.....:)

newayz i like the idea of the multi strain layout just make sure that you keep an eye if you get any auto flowers like lowryder. that will be all that forces you to flower...

you controll their length of veg time with lightning and nutes... :)

oh yeah i forgot i all the different strains work out well but you might want to consider that they would make great mothers..

momies yeah buddy!! mother them and clone them. and clone and send me a few babies and make em multiply like rabbits!!! :)

Yep, I was talking about feminized seeds (Female Seeds brand, specifically, since I've seen a labeled multi-pack of them at times.) Appreciate the input. I am aware you control veg time with lightning and nutes, I was just worried with multiple strains that some would be at different stages at different times, partiautllry the end stage where I need to just give them water. If some strains still have an extra week or two of flowering to go before they are ready for pure H2O but others are ready, what would I do if they are all in the same Aerogarden?

That would be a distinct problem. Different strains require different nutrients at the same time, and not just at the end. But long before you got to the end, you would have height problems, the longer maturing ones would be taller and "shade out" the shorter plants.

With only 1 res, it's best to grow only 1 strain, or a couple of like strains, at a time.

i'm in soil 21 pots. 8 strains from7 - 12 weeks flowering times. love the varieties. i switch up every day. i have 3 2 gallon jugs. 1 h2o, 1 veg mix and 1 bloom mix. i have a cup that i have to add a little of this and a little of that for each plant. i need to buy a lab coat and one of those pocket pencil things.hehehe. i think you may run into MAJOR issues.
