Mad cow disease in bone meal?

Bought some fertilizer recently and one ofthe components is derived from bone meal. Somebody had mentioned to me not to get bone meal for the fact that it's possible to have mad cow disease. What are the odds that I could catch the disease that comes from mad cow disease and is there any way possible to avoid getting it if it does have the disease. I'm probably just paranoid, I've used a bone meal in the past but this shit gets me worried.

unless you're eating it none, the odds that the bone meal came from an infected cow, slim to none. only 160 people have died worldwide from it, mostly in the uk and japan where it is a delicacy to eat calf brains. cows get the disease from eating other cows, people will grind up old sick cows and feed them to younger healthy cows. stop feeding cow beef!
