EDIT: I realized my picture was the wrong one and my camera still doesn't work... Well, on the right hand side of that picture are all my volunteers for main-lining!

If that's not a convincing side by side comparison showin smart pots>hard pots I don't know what is.

1 of my 4 main leaders seems to be lagging behind a little bit. the 2 branches (to form 2 of the are about 1 inch shorter than than the same branches on the other 3 leads, making them 4 inches long instead of 5.

you can easily use some light super-cropping to even them up.......of course it is easier when you have one tall one, instead of three....but a little pinch and bend won't hurt any.

.....so i have done some calendar work, and have come to the conclusion that this process adds an average of only 10 days to the total veg time.........it is easy to think that it would be more....but the calender don't lie!

....i average 48 days veg, and if i flip on the third of May for "8-heads", the total veg comes in at 58 days....not bad........

....now the 16 headed mama needs a bit longer, but she will be grown by herself in the greenie, so i want her a bit bigger than the average indo plant.

where do you suggest pinching on the long branches while supercropping?

.......and these are my clones of the two girls, which i will be running together, mainlined 8, in 5 gal. smarts.

i always bend them into an "empty" part of the canopy, which determines where my bend is, length wise......

its just about to get good!

.....mrs. "8 heads" is going into the flower room on the 1st.......she is just starting to hit on all cylinders.......grew 1 1/2 in. over-night........this tells me that her energy is shifting from roots, to foliage, and is almost ready to flip........she is 2 inches above the ring.....killer structure, i have high hopes for this one!

total veg time.....46 days!

so, to compare.....my TGA girls in my other thread vegged for 47 days....no topping, and spiraled around the pots.......

and my bonzai's in this thread were vegged for 45..............crazy shit.........my theory on why this doesn't add much time is this......by prunning away everything but the shoots you want to grow, all the plants energy is directed precisely where we want it, and no energy is wasted on growing unneeded foliage......amazing plant.

Hella! great job nug. She is an amazing plant. But you've learned her well so far. Still cant give you more rep, but BIG props man.

so i thought i would take a smart pot comparison pic......so we can see what all my girls in different stages look next to each other.....Ace in a 7 going into flower in a few days, Vortex in a 5 vegged 47 days @ 22 days flower, and a bonzai in a 5 @ 38 days flower......they are all bomb as hell! enjoy

You grow some amazing plants.those are all beautiful. Do you use super soil? What is your mix? And do you feed at all?
