I'll be in Maine in a few weeks, with my AK mmj card. Maine reciprocates. I should be able to purchase. I've phoned and e-mailed maine cannabis caregivers, they're not replying. I want to make contact now with a dispensary in Portland or Falmouth. Anyone able to share a valid website or phone # to a dispensary in either location? Thanks. Kind of a life long bucket list item to finally have the liberty to buy it legit!!!

Maine still rocks any way its seen! I'll be on the water in Casco Bay shrouded in green, legit or not. One day folks, we'll all be able to do as we please. I guess in the end that's my true bucket list item! I am disappointed not to be able to just walk in, present my card, buy and smoke.

There is a designation form to fill out, but you can ask for it back as soon as you get the product.

From my reading of the law, you are pretty much a qualifying patient. I need to run it by my lawyer, but if you are a legit AK patient, I would consider taking you on as a patient.

The one thing I would want you to do is get the Maine physician certification form filled out by your doctor. It needs to be filled out on special security paper. I can send you a couple printed on the special paper if you need them.

§2423-D. Authorized conduct by a visiting qualifying patient A qualifying patient who is visiting the State from another jurisdiction that authorizes the medical use of marijuana pursuant to a law recognized by the department who possesses a valid written certification as described in section 2423-B from the patient's treating physician and a valid medical marijuana certification from that other jurisdiction and photographic identification or a driver's license from that jurisdiction may engage in conduct authorized for a qualifying patient under this chapter.

§2423-B. Authorized conduct by a physician

A physician may provide a written certification for the medical use of marijuana under this chapter and, after having done so, may otherwise state that in the physician's professional opinion a qualifying patient is likely to receive therapeutic benefit from the medical use of marijuana to treat or alleviate the patient's debilitating medical condition. [2011, c. 407, Pt. B, §17 (RPR).]

1. Adult qualifying patient. Prior to providing written certification for the medical use of marijuana under this section, a physician shall inform an adult qualifying patient of the risks and benefits of the medical use of marijuana and that the patient may benefit from the medical use of marijuana.
[ 2011, c. 407, Pt. B, §17 (NEW) .]

2. Minor qualifying patient. Prior to providing written certification for the medical use of marijuana by a minor qualifying patient under this section, a physician, referred to in this subsection as "the treating physician," shall inform the minor qualifying patient and the parent or legal guardian of the patient of the risks and benefits of the medical use of marijuana and that the patient may benefit from the medical use of marijuana. Except with regard to a minor qualifying patient who is eligible for hospice care, prior to providing a written certification under this section, the treating physician shall consult with a qualified physician, referred to in this paragraph as "the consulting physician," from a list of physicians who may be willing to act as consulting physicians maintained by the department that is compiled by the department after consultation with statewide associations representing licensed medical professionals. The consultation between the treating physician and the consulting physician may consist of examination of the patient or review of the patient's medical file. The consulting physician shall provide an advisory opinion to the treating physician and the parent or legal guardian of the minor qualifying patient concerning whether the patient is likely to receive therapeutic or palliative benefit from the medical use of marijuana to treat or alleviate the patient's debilitating medical condition. If the department or the consulting physician does not respond to a request by a treating physician within 10 days of receipt of the request, the treating physician may provide written certification for treatment without consultation with another physician.
[ 2011, c. 407, Pt. B, §17 (NEW) .]

3. Expiration. A written certification form for the medical use of marijuana under this section expires one year after issuance by the qualifying patient's physician.
[ 2011, c. 407, Pt. B, §17 (NEW) .]

4. Form; content. A written certification under this section must be in the form required by rule adopted by the department and may not require a qualifying patient's physician to state the patient's specific medical condition.
[ 2011, c. 407, Pt. B, §17 (NEW) .]

5. Possible sanctions. Nothing in this chapter prevents a professional licensing board from sanctioning a physician for failing to properly evaluate or treat a patient's medical condition or otherwise violating the applicable standard of care for evaluating or treating medical conditions.

I asked one of my patients about dispenaries this weekend. He said he doesn't have a lot of experience with them.

He said some of the stuff he has got from the dispensary in Thomaston had a bunch of immature seeds in it that made it unsmokable. I had to be vaped. Sounds like they had a plant in the grow room that hermed at the end.

He said the med quality of the L/A dispensary (Remedy Compassion Center) is good, but my stuff is just as good at half the price. I charge $200 per oz.

He showed me a reciept for a few grams. It was a little more than $15 per gram. He said there is no discount for quantity.

Jujubee thanks for the info and links you posted, appreciate it. As I'm a resident of another state with mmj card and just travelling/visiting Maine briefly I'll stand pat. Now could I walk in and my mmj card be honored I'd buy, you bet. As it is I'm cool with gifts of bud from friends. Some day folks- this f ing prohibition will end. Our experience and skills as growers will be legit. Till then I'm ok cloaking when needed.

I asked one of my patients about dispenaries
I picked up a patient recently who, before she found me, had contacted Remedy in Auburn. She was told she would have to wait two weeks for an interview to be accepted and then wait until November for meds.

Dispensaries are a joke. They charge way to much and make you wait way to long.Non profit my ass. I also charge my patient 200 a zip( less for someone going through a hardship) and I also give them freebies of new strains to try out and not just a damn gram.My opinion is fuck dispensaries.

A lot of that this year I guess. I had a small infestation myself...my first. Was on top of it quick though, and after I tried the things that don't work I found out what does and am now mite free for two harvests.
