Major "Purpling" going on

I cant post pics but the temp in my grow room dropped to 55 a few nights. Nothing I can do about it really.. except get a small heater or something but then i bet it will be too hot. Anyways, the leaves and buds are starting to turn purple. Yea, that could be great.. but I am on week 6 and I wonder if it will impact my yield at all or if there is anything I can do about it? Buds look great.. just not as dense as I would want.

Thats what its genetics are telling it to do. Lower temps get purple or blue colors. Ive even seen pink! Never heard of it affecting the yield.

I know man im just paranoid. Everything you put on the internet can be traced right to your computer desk, ya know? If I were medical I would. It started on the leaves first, and now some of the calyx's are starting to turn purple. Oh well ill just ride it through and see what happens.

yea they do that when the temp drops that low, some people do it intentionally to bring out purple and blue in the buds.. Makes for some pretty looking buds. Shouldnt affect overall yield but be aware plants grow slower in cold temps so u might need to flower 1 week longer to compensate for the temp drop.

But I'm not givin' in an inch to fear. My friend, you are already posting what you are doing on the internet, do you really think pics at this point will matter?

I to have some purple showing up in the girls, my room hasn't gotten any lower than sixty three and that was only one night but I have been trying to lower my temps a bit at night to try to bring out some purple. I guess it's working.

i never knew they grew slower in cold temps

I also noted the purples on my small grow.......and knew the temps got fairly low.....and also noticed growth was slowed....or just not where I thought it should be....I had been taking pics through out my little grow and noticed it while comparing pics.....
Having read about this previously...I've already figured another week or two....gonna start scoping to watch how the trics are looking .......try to determine any effect on them....

On the other note.. Thanks for the postings guys. Boy that plant definitely has a lot more purple than mine. It does seem they are growing slower.. the colors are amazing though. Its almost like a cartoon.

I understand what you are saying but I still disagree. Do you think your writing on the internet in this forum would be probable cause for a judge to issue a search warrant if big brother is listening? And posting pictures on the internet, what does that mean? Does it prove they came from you? I can search the internet and find a gazillion pics of weed, that doesn't mean each site I visit that person grew those plants. I can even post pics and claim they are my girls when in fact they are pics I found on the internet. If it makes you feel better not posting pics, then by all means don't post any. I still think you are being a bit paranoid. Like dear old mom used to say, "that's why they make chocolate AND vanilla". Peace

I never claimed it would be the end-all allowing a judge to issue a search warrant. It will, however, add to any outstanding evidence or spark your interest level to local law enforcement. If you look back to my post nothing referenced any illegal drugs. If someone with a traceable IP address posted pictures of an illegal drug then its pretty obvious and easy to track.

Low temps will affect your cellular respiration, along
with other basic cellular functions, yes it will affect
yield, affecting the creation of Adenosine Triphosphate
will definitely alter the basics of DNA replication and production,
who knows how much, but it definitely doesn't
create optimal conditions, and that means not optimal
yield or quality, but you will still have smokeable herb.

one thing keep them off the floor!! dont set your planters down with nothing under them!!
