Making the Closet Grow Tent with what I had

Ok so I have recently decided to grow again! I really want to make sure that I do it right this time...I have grown about 2-3 times in the past but before I was able to see any buds something always happened, and the plants had to be destroyed. This time I have decided to grow indoors in the spare room, it has two sliding doors with mirrors. As you can see in the pics, I have made a grow closet from some spare wood around the house and some perforated reflective material (not sure what its called) designed to go in attics and reflect the heat out in the summer and keep heat in during the winter. Its measurements are 2'W 3'D 6'H, which I'm hoping will be enough to grow 4-5 plants. Once the structure was assembled I added the covering, wrapped it like I would a gift and sealed it all up with duct tape to make sure it was all nice and tight. I was having trouble deciding how I wanted to do the door because I didn't really have anything that a would last long (velcro, zipper) and I was really trying to do the whole project for free aside from the cost for lighting. After some thought I went with a piece of the material that just rolls up and down and is fastened to the tent with duct tape as well; before I start to grow I think I will build a door to fit on the tent and replace the flap. The inside of the closet has detachable shelves that will work to hold all the equipment both inside and outside of the tent. Ventilation will be some duct work (and a homemade Carbon Filter) and fans running to the closet door which I'll have to leave open. I really wish I could afford an 400w HPS right now but I can't, so I was thinking of getting a 36" 6 bulb Vanity fixture with 42watt CFLs, or a fem moor of the shop lights like I have in there now with 42watt CFLs. Please let me know what you think and feel free to give any advise.
P.S. I have also read that tinfoil could be a bad Idea for grow rooms; this material is not tinfoil and I don't think it will act like it (heat spot, burn spots on plant). It seems pretty well at reflecting the light evenly.

you know what soil n what not your going to be using?

Yes well actually I'm going to be using the Hempy Bucket-Passive Hydro system with 100% perlite and no vermiculite. This seems to be the easiest ways to get into hydroponics. I think I'm going to use Fox Farms Nutrients but i haven't quit decided yet.

Looks good. I have a Small grow tent and a XXL grow tent, I was gonna build my flower and veg room like yours but just decided that the portable grow tent would be better for me. Looks great actually!

Today I decided to go ahead and make the door instead of waiting, and have something a little more durable then that flap I had on there before. Just a basic little door made from spare wood (Its actually a little crooked and not really square but it does the job fine) with a hook to keep it closed and it didn't really take to long to assemble either. Let me know what you think Also I was wondering if you think that a 400watt HPS would be to big for the area and cause to much heat: 2'W 3'D 6' H?

400 would be good hell a 250 would work as well, I would buy or make a cool tube for that box

Ahh thanks for the advise man! I figured since the 250 is about as expensive as a 400 I might as well go big for the money.

I looked it up and see that a pyrex baking tube is really popular.

Yea I'm doing all of my stuff on the minimalists budget so hopefully I'll be able to find a designe for the cheap.

So far I have spent zero dollars on my grow tent...hopefully the only thing that is going to cost me any money will be the lights (unless I find one wink wink).

I have a 400 watt hps that I am not using this grow, that I could use, but I have heard that hps during veg will make my girls stretch too much.

I have heard that too, but if you buy that MH light it would be perfect...I would switch to the HPS for flowering though.

I also have 2 600 watt hps lights currently in use (flowering) my 20 Caboose girls. I didnt end up using the 400 watt because the circuit trip if I turn it on. I have a heater and a dehumidifier and 3 fans in there too on a 20 amp circuit.

I wish I could afford to have some nice lights like that...but I did check out the craigslist for my area and got a few good results, and some nice prices.

Appreciate it Krane! Do y'all think I should use the tent for veg too, or would there be a huge benefit to just veg in another area?
