Manipulating photo-preriod 4 lager yeilds.Does it work?

Whats up ya'll! Been reading grow faq and came across something very interesting to me.An article on how to increase your yeild possible by 40%.It went on to say that if your switch your lights to 21 hours & 36 minutes on & 12 hours off during peak resign production & to repeat this for no longer than 2 weeks, then switch back to 12/12.It said that 80% more light during peak resign production could possibly increase your yeild by 40%,w/only @ a week or so xtra flowering time,as long as all of the other neccessary requirments are met(i.e. Nutes,H2O,O2 & CO2).
Has anyone ever tried this???Did it work any???How or when do you know that your plants are in "peak production"????I don't know the strain of weed that i am growing(BOW seed). I hope that there are many experts, elites & staff browsing this site tonight.Would love to have some expert advice, since my plants have been in the flowering stage for ruffly 14days.
Thanx Luke:peace:

i don't know if i'd call myself an expert, but i believe that if you were in 12/12 and switched to that schedule you mentioned, one of two things would happen. it would either get shocked into hermie or start reverting back to veg. you don't want either of those....

I remember reading that same article. It sounded crazy, but I don't know. It could be. I don't think it would be worth it though. It seems like it would take a very long time to finish the plants, though. I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, the main thing that it going to determine your yields on an indoor grow is availability of light to bud sites. If the light is not hitting them, they aren't growing. If you are reading up in the GrowFAQ, I think that researching ways you can get the most out of a light would be a better idea. Then again, if you have the balls to do it, show us the results!

I read this in the faqs section on RIU.I would think that if it didnt work,it would'nt be in the faq section.I know that there has to be someone in the world who has tried this method.I would like to hear from them. When i use the term "expert"(i mean anyone who knows their shit about growing ganja)I want to know the "pros & cons" of doing this method.
I am not computer lit at all or i would put the link to it in grow faqz.Main cat #9 "Improving your yeild"

Oh, sorry if I sounded like a dick there. I wasn't calling you out or anything. We love to see experiments here. If you go through the Grow Journals, just about everyone does some sort of experimentation. I think if you used this cycle for the last 2 weeks, the worst that could happen is a hermie, or maybe a little growth stunting. If so, you might end up harvesting early to avoid pollination. I say go for it. I'd love to see the results.

does it have to be 21 hours and exactly 36 minutes? or will they know if its 40 minutes? sounds a bit daffy to me. ill stick with 12/12

there are several ways to tweak the photo periods of the plants...like switching to 13-11 the last 3 weeks of flower will make your plants finish several days sooner but affects yeild...but if you can bumper crop an extra harvest cause of this it still pays more then for its self...peace az

Peak resin production would be towards the end of flowering, so it wouldnt affect yield cause buds arent really going to grow ne bigger. Its a crock of shit. Just stick with 12/12 and think about how to optimize your growing conditions.

Hold up. I just read the faq and it said maximum flowering rate, not resin production. Wat u said fucked me up but o well. It could be worth a try if u want to experiment, but to have proven results u would have try multiple strains and use the scientific method

Thanx ya'll.I'm gonna try it.how long or when do you tell when your plant is in maximum flowering rate????????????

Around the 4th or 5th week, but depends on the strain. Just watch the plant(s) for when the buds start swell/grow at a fast rate
