I think it depends on the person, Like I smoke more then my brother, and I have close to perfect memory. BUT he has a horrible memory. Well, he always had a bad memory. IMO, I really think it depends on the person. If you have always had great memory, then it shouldn't change. But sometimes, I'm about to go do something, then I get distracted and forget what I was about to do for a few minutes but then I remember. Thats as bad as my memory gets. So, to answer your question, I think it depends on the person.

I actually think it helps my memory because I can focus more clearly on things when I'm high.

I agree with 420God...I too think much more clearly with a buzz....and also get a layer by layer peel back in the distant memory vault when high....Much more creative when high.....
I do know those who stay 'stoned' who seem to be 'duh' 'what',,,etc but I've been toking the 'erb 40+ years and it always made me more active....still have somewhat of a photo-mem I've always enjoyed...much more precise when high too...

Ask the same question to someone who has a drink about every other day, be that a whisky or a beer. Alcohol effects more brain cells than THC. I'm no doctor but I have heard that short term use can actually enhance dreams, recognitive memory as well as grenderfunkle has cheese melting out the nebula on the time where certain trees laughing at the holes in the groound gravy made deeper with a small silver spoon shaped like chickens dancing...

Or some such other

My husband once had a driver's helper that walked behind the trailer to take a leak and came back because he couldn't remember what he had gone back there for. LOL.

Bless his little heart he sure was funny.

Some studies have shown that there are receptors in the brain that are suppose to recive a chemical from the body to help forget, and the delta9's are also accepted.
Ive also heard that it can cause cells in the brain to become dorment, but by no means kill them.

lets be realistic here, we all know the reason you get high is because the cannaboids in THC lock on to your brains neurons and cause them to do something other than what they were meant for. Short term memory is one of those systems. Its like a file cabinet in your brain, imagine youre trying to go get a file and suddenly a big hand comes down and grabs you and pulls you into a different room and plugs in a 61" LCD TV with some football, some good dro, and hot chicks. Youre not gonna remember you were going for that file. the THC is basically the hand thats keeping you from getting your memory of something.

Very true, when im medicated, i just start explain to my girlfriend the wonders of exercisee physiology and how the body can be manipulated in order to obtain that image you always wanted or achieving that one athletic goal and how strength and conditioning helps improve athletic performances...

She loves it!!! I can go on and on for hours if i dont stop myself, referencing various studies or journal articles.. I am very thorough with my explanations and put in terms someone with no prior experience with exercise physiology can understand...

if you ask me anyone who has smoked for less than 10 years and/or smokes less than a gram a day is not worthy of studying. i'm not impressed when someone who has smoked for a few years brags about how they can remember all sorts of shit, particularly when they are under 25. some people don't realise that it's the ABUSE, not the simple smoking that fucks the memory. i'm fucking guilty of having to stop a sentence to recall a simple word like "adaptor" that i use almost daily, but this is thanks to a very long term no less than 3 grams of dank a day habit. weekend and other types of non-daily smokers know nothing about it. on the other hand, the memory loss is NOT permenant. once you stop smoking for a while the memory gets right back to how it should be for a person of your age and health status. i might not be able to hold a thought for very long but i'm still able to string together a fairly complex sentence and wing it when i need to. my brain's not dead, it's just in a cloud. it means i smoke too much. pretty easy to fix. weed is good like that.

I live in the now and have very ;little use for short term memory.
Memory is more of a practiced skill than an atribute.

Yeah I definitely feel like it's affected my short term memory. I'll walk to the back of the building to grab something at work and when I get back there completely forget what I walked back there for, that shit happens at least once a week.. Especially times/dates, I'm fuckin' horrible with that! Like if someone was to ask me "what did you have for dinner on Tuesday?" (it being Thursday, just two days later..) I'd sit there for a minute and most likely not be able to remember... I guess I don't really pay much attention to little details..

I agree, I don't really have memory loss. I find that sometimes when I'm super medicated, maybe I can't remember a certain word I use every day, or maybe forget where i was going with a long drawn out story. I also stopped smoking for while and found that I got a bit clearer.

Every now and then I find that I cant remember what I walked into a room for. But it eventually comes to me.
