Marijuana PEOPLE Problems

it's a common theme on the internet as a whole

when i was getting into computers, unix specifically, there was a common saying, RTFM (read the fucking manual!), if you did in fact rtfm, you did in fact search a few other places and actually MAKE AN EFFORT TO FIGURE IT OUT ON YOUR OWN, THEN and only then you were allowed to go ask the older guru unix guys questions in their irc channels and boards

if you came in there asking stupid questions without attempting to research first, you'd get a lot of stupid answers back and get ridiculed and laughed out of the forum/channel

it was generally very obvious when a newb that had done some research and actually tried came into the channel, versus a newb that didn't and basically wanted us to magically make everything work for them without them having to put forth any effort, the latter newb never becomes a real unix guy, the former most often did

there should be a 30 day ban on new users starting threads-
and there should be more references made to the faq

U ain't lyin this ain't my first screenname I been on here a while and I swear ninety percent of the time I come in and go to the forums bam at least one "wahhh my leaves have brown spots" with literally no other info sumtimes. I mean wow. I guess it is like svchop said its modern fukin medicine savin all the dumbasses from their self inflicted fatal wounds so that they can add even more dumbass kids to society. I mean face it they have more children statistically and eventually the human race will probably be exactly like it was in the movie idiocracy. To the noobs that have done ur preliminary research good job this isn't for u. To u candy ass kids that think everybody is just gonna hand u everything ur whole life u gotta nuther thing cumin. Piss off this community is about helping others but if others don't even have the common sense to realize that they should at least take the time to learn sum basics we don't need u hear. Peace

Alright...devil's advocate here.

First of all, the search function sucks. Almost every forum that I visit that includes a search function does not seem to be up to par in terms of how good it can be. I will agree that BASIC questions probably could be answered by reading FAQs and stickies, but...can I be honest here??? I've read MANY of the stickies and FAQs from the various forums....MANY of them are organized terribly. Good information, but the way the poster goes about giving that information could be done more effectively. For all of you guys who are cannabis-growing experts, these stickies and FAQs are great....but that's because you already KNOW a lot of this info. A true "noob" w/o a clue??? The stickies will confuse more than help.

Secondly, y'all do realize that there is a forum called "Newbie Central", yes??? I don't get what the big deal is re: people who post questions (regardless of how stupid) in that forum. That's like taking a beginning basketball class and getting mad at everybody who can't dribble or shoot (sorry for the ball reference...that's what's on TV now). The forum is labeled "Newbie"...if you hate Newbie questions, why don't you spend your time in the "Advanced" forum, since y'all are so advanced??? And even if a stupid question does make its way into the "Plant Problems" or the "Outdoor" forum, just skip it. Why stress out so much about it? Believe me, life will go on if you don't read every post.

The way I see it, all of us are at different levels of knowledge on this site. I would put myself in the middle of the range, and it sounds like most of you on this thread are above me. And that's a good thing...because in the end, aren't we all cruising this site to either 1) gain knowledge or 2) hang out and talk?

Most of the stuff I learned about cannabis was from the internet, and forums like these. I'm always looking to learn something new. And I'm a grown ass man. So, hey, if we got some total noobs who ask the craziest of questions, f* it. It's all good. You don't wanna answer, then don't answer.

But no point in calling these guys "cunts", eh?

Who knows maybe ur right. It just gets so redundant. Its like nobody knows they can ask google their question and most likely obtain their answer from somebody else who has already asked the question either on RIU or another forum. I mean its just fukin annoying cuz most of the time u kno it is just sum stereotypical lazy stoner wantin a bag of cheetos handed to him instead of gettin up to get it, u kno, the kind that make us functioning ones look bad. So in all reality I believe the OP was just frustrated as a lot of us are at the lack of any self reliance around here. Its just gimme an answer I know u just answered this but I'm gonna ask again and were kinda fed up.

If you don't like a persons thread, you should not visit it. Nobody is forcing you to look at the thread, in fact- you should be well aware of what it is prior to visiting. Rollitup is a place for new growers to learn, and share with other growers. If you don't want to help someone with their problem, don't help them. You don't have to act like a jerk.

those were from when i considered myself a newbie, when i wasnt told to read all the faq's and reaserch, the main reason of this thread is to INCLUDE INFORMATION IN YOUR THREAD which i did in the above ^^and to try and portray the fact that you NEED to reaserch , you NEED to read around which i was never told to do before postingg and yes i must of annoyed sum medium level growers, like people are doing to me now

i do not see how i got owned? in my threads, i included sufficiant information, even tho they were basic knowledge questions, which probably would be explained by reaserch, the point is that i included information, not just "theres a brown spot on my leaves"
