Police say they seized more than 2,000 cannabis plants from a residence in Grimsby after executing a search warrant there August 10.

The residence was searched by members of the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team of the Ontario Provincial Police and the Niagara Regional Police Service.

Hui Bin Chen, 24, from St. Catharines, and Xin Chen, 24, from Markham, were arrested and charged with cultivating cannabis in a dwelling house other than their own, contrary to the Federal Cannabis Act.

They were both released and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

Why is growing 2,000 plants in a "dwelling house not your own" any different than growing 2,000 plants in your own dwelling house?

If they aren't medical, then 2,000 plants is 2,000 plants, right?

So many new rules... so confusing... the criminals won't know what to do, and will just give up I guess... Is that their plan?

That was my question...

If they aren't medical, then 2,000 plants is 2,000 plants, right?
That was meant to keep everyone from jumping down my throat about 2000 plants and how it could be valid...

So many new rules... so confusing... the criminals won't know what to do, and will just give up I guess... Is that their plan?

This is where I went wrong, trying to be funny...

See? I'm learning....
