Mars Hydro FC 6500 Vs Geekbeast plus vs ?

First time poster, long time lurker. I have 2 units of Mars Hydro FC 6500 that arrived this week. After doing more research on lights and comparing similar priced lights, I arrived at the fact that these may not be the model (FC 6500) that I am looking for. I have the option to return them this week as I have not opened them. I have a few questions still on a few different areas that maybe this forum or members with these lights could hopefully answer. I have contacted Mars Hydro through email and they either don't understand my questions or avoid answering them.

The grow room is 10x11 in size, with 10' ceilings. I plan on using 5x10 of this area to grow in. Two lights that can put out a decent 5x5 map intensity was why I was looking at the models being mentioned.

The Mars Hydro FC 6500 has 2 different models I have noticed. One with UV&IR, the other without. How does one tell which unit they have without powering it on? I do not want do such as mentioned above I may be returning them. The FC 6500 has 3144pcs of Samsung LM301b and Osram 660nm chips.

How many pcs of Osram 660nm chips?
How many pcs of UV chips? What wavelength is the UV chip ? Manufacturer of chip?
How many pcs of IR chips? What wavelength is the IR chips ? Manufacturer of chip?
Is having UV/IR on the whole grow detrimental or beneficial, as these on FC 6500 can't be independently controlled like the Geekbeast pro/plus units.

The Geekbeast Plus has 2016 pcs of Samsung 301b/h, 96 pcs OSR/CREE 660nm leds, 32 pcs OSR/CREE 730nm IR leds, 32 pcs LG/SEOUL 385nm UV Leds. The UV&IR can be independently controlled via the switch or app model.

The Mars Hydro FC 6500 has 3144 pcs of samsung 301b. Over 1000 more pcs than the Geekbeast plus, did they have to use less of the 660nm, uv, and Ir to achieve this? Power draw is 650w compared to Geekbeast 630w.

The Geekbeast Pro is offered in 3000 or 3500k spectrum as the FC6500 is only offered in 3000k. The spectrum chart for the FC 6500 shows more blue spectrum than either model of the geekbeast. Where does the FC 6500 get the extra blue from?

And finally which light would be better for the open canopy above (10' ceilings) as most par maps results are based around the fixture being inside a grow tent. I am also open to any other suggestions for lights. Thanks for any response and sorry for the longwinded post.

These will be your ir and uv
Also the 630w vs the 650w . Check which one has a higher efficiency. Meaning the umouls . If the Mars hydro has less than the geek beast that would mean that the geek beast is a more powerful efficient light . Idk the specs of both so I can’t tell you .

If you look up the geek beast on the tube. Shane from micro does a test and I believe the geek beast is the most efficient light he has tested. That said I think the fc is. Great light also. If I had the choice the geek beast would be it but I went with a cheaper 640 watt model from phlizon with lm301b and oram with meanwell driver because they were half the price.
If I had your budget I woulda went geek beast but either will do a good job in a 5x5

I have seen that before, I emailed them about that as I thought, UV was less than 400nm. They are showing 440-460nm in that photo you circled. In the email Mars Hydro says the UV is 380-410nm wavelength.

Mars hydro FC6500 have 50% 2800k-3000k Diodes and the other 50% are 4800k-5000k diodes with added osram 660nm diodes. You have a cct around 3700k/3800k. Geekbeast has 3500k diodes whith extra osram diodes and cct = 3178k. If you choose the geekbeast with 3000k diodes you have a cct around 2700k.

Hi, could you tell me how do you calculate cct in that way?

Nonody consider that marshydro adopts more smd than light geek so prob they run cooler and long lasting?

This is for the geekbeast, for the mars hydro i couldn't find it anymore. it was deleted on my computer. You can always ask mars hydro, but to get this it would be difficult because they are just marketing company without any science behind it

I think you just average it by adding the temps together then divide by the number of colors e.g. 1 x 3000k + 1 x 5000k led =8000k, /2 = 4000k

So if the FC6500 has 50% 2800-3000k (average 2900k) diodes and 50% 4800k-5000k (average 4800k) diodes, add 2900 + 4900 to get 7800, divide by 2 (because there are 2 contributing color temps) you get 3900k average and then account for the added 660nm reds which lower the color temp a bit and viola 3700-3800k average.

I may be wrong.

I don't know if I'm allowed to put the link up because they aren't a sponsor. But I got the 640watt dimmable folding bars light. You can pick from multiple led and driver options available. I got 1 of their lights with Samsung lm301b and osram far reds with a meanwell driver. I also ordered 2 with meanwells and there smd 2385 leds or 2835 whichever they are. You can find them on Alibaba or their website. I got it from Alibaba

A company called Sundopt on Alibaba makes these. Go look at all of medigro's lights and then go check out the company I mentioned.
