Mars Hydro ts 3000 heating ?

Hello,

As per title I’d like to know how much heat will a Mars Hydro TS 3000 produce in a space 4 x 4 with extractor fan , air intake , 2 regular fans and one oscillating? Right now I’m running a 600w hps with cooltube but having several issue with temperatures. And in terms of yield how would you compare the ts3000 to an hps ?

Not a Mars light but my spider farmer 2000 led in my 2x4x5 foot tent with a 4 inch exhausted fan full chooch and a cyclone fan for circulation. My temps are at about 79 to 81 degrees. I keep my house set at 78 right now as I'm in the dog days of summer with temps exceeding 105 regularly.

It's gonna be cooler in there with the leds. 450 watts of heat to deal with instead of 600 watts with the hps.
But you'll need higher room temps when growing with the leds due to little to no IR in it. ~ 28°C - 83°F
So you might need to dial back a bit on your fans.
Yeild should be similar to the 600 HPS

Hi, thanks for your answers, I did some research and understand that temp must be higher due to IR and leaf temp, but this bring me to the next question, with an average temp of 28C you will not be more vulnerable to bugs? Maybe is a stupid quest but I'm not familiar with LED at all and when I used HPS I always thought that above 25C the risk of pest/bugs is higher, what I'm missing here?

You will have incorrect temp readings when you put a thermometer in direct light, especially a HPS.
It should be shaded from direct light or its getting heated by light radiation.

As to the temp rise from ambient it depends on your whole system, it changes as your fan is increased or decreased but I agree with Moflow, the less watts means lower temps but 28c is ideal for LED so slowing your fan down may be desirable. Though I find in flower I can still grow at 24c up to 30c.

There is always the chance of getting bugs over a wide range of temps but they like warmer temps as you say.
The spider mite, a bit of info below.
There is an optimum were they will explode in fast reproduction in the grow room.
Inspect your plants daily for bugs and get on top of the problem, like yesterday. If you don't you'll regret it.
Be vigilant.

Spider mites prefer hot and dry conditions. They are most active between 48 °F and 111 °F; however, they prefer temperatures between 55 °F and 98 °F. TSSM feeding and reproduction depends on body temperature, and the body temperature of the mite depends on air temperature.
Females can lay up to 100 eggs in an average lifetime of 68 days. Depending on day and night time temperatures, TSSM eggs will hatch between 3-19 days. At temperatures below 48 °F, a spider mite egg will hatch in about 19 days. At temperatures above 70 °F, spider mite eggs will hatch in 3-7 days.

Have you a bug problem?

As @coreywebster sez your room might actually be a bit cooler than your thermometer is reading as it's in the direct light/heat from the HPS.

Hi, I think I had thrips but spot it on time and I applied a bug killer spray and used diatomaceous earth to cover the soil, I find out that should do the trick of block their life cycle , and remove the affected leaves (little white/silver spot), even thought I did not see any signs under leaves , such bugs o black spot (bugs poopoo) , did I do the right things ? Overall plants looks healthy to me..

Yea, sounds like you are on top of things.
You can also get sticky trap sheets. Theyre quite cheap. You can place around the room, especially flying insects are attracted by the colour, there is blue and yellow coloured ones. I think the thrip prefer blue.....
