Ok guys, I’m starting to get these purple leaves on new growth in some spots. I’m thinking phosphorus deficiency? I too dressed about three weeks ago with worm castings, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, and something else I forget lol should I add some bat guano and dress again? Not sure how often I should be top dressing. Could it also be the soil conditions? Ph is 6.9
Can you get some better pics it accually just looks like the purps in the genetics are showing up strong. Everything else about the plant looks healthy.

I’ll try to take some better shots later when I get home
Forgot to get the shot I wanted to show you but here is one of my plants that changed over night from that cold front 20190825_153815.jpg

I also have another one that I wanted to take the picture of that is more like yours on a couple bottom branches that started about a week ago. It has it more so on the leaves than the pistols.

This is a pic from a plant I had last year Screenshot_20190825-190343_Gallery.jpg

No deficiencies just the time of year the plant will show its purple genes. Either dureing stretch or begining of flower. It will be centralized on a few buds or branches then later in flower it will cover the whole plant.

Follow up photos. Just returned from camping found aphids on plants and my partner has missed last few preventative sprays. Hopefully treatments this week will work enough as flowering starts third week. Will be releasing ladybugs over final 6 weeks.

Thank you for posting those. That makes me feel a little better lol. I'm still new to organics so trying to identify possible issues as early as possible and learn from them. I top dressed yesterday very lightly and sprayed spinosad when the sun went down for precaution. I didnt get a chance to take any more pics today is was already dark when I got home . It seems to be affecting all my plants now though in some way or another.

Yea! And the weather is still cooperating! My virgin sacrifice is working so far.
Also...these Pure Indicas are ripping towards harvest. Never seen a plant go so fast. I might just do all BlueBerry and Pure Indica next year...

Little wet from the morning dew...but still looking fantastic!

it's crazy that there's still a week left in august and that plant is already there .. i'll probably try one or two of those next year

Only thing that scares me is that you have know idea if it's a Massive Pollen Chuck like will plant this 100 here and let Nature do it's thing [ Open Air Pollen Chuck] not i have this male with these traits and a Female with these and i wanna get this to happen and show from both the parents . Then breed that line till i get what i want for said traits to hopefully stabilize not i have a Male from some fire C99 and some killa Insert fast finishing Indica Female here and let them do their thing on a Mountain somewhere i was just intrigued by a Fast finishing PM & mildew resistant strains breed for the North East .

I honestly wish their was more info on them sounded good when i found what i found but i'm to scared it's just a bunch of Bumpkins out their Open Air Chucking in the mountains  Their Seaweed Juice also intrigues me as well my family has used ingredients from the sea for years for farming and they are by far the best for mulch , compost, & teas only problem is the Stuff Stinks to high hell and i just cant handle my yard smelling like low tide and dead seafood "fish, clams, mussels, seaweed, periwinkle, lobster or crab making me wanna throw up just thinking about it :wall: let me know how they turn out they look good just can't see myself buying some unknown genetics is all . Thanks for the info bud !
As much as I would like to believe that Getaway Mountain's breeding is done in a controlled environment, such as within their greenhouse, there is not enough information available about their breeding process to definitively say that no open air pollination is happening. Especially since so much of their growing is done outdoors in guerrilla fashion, it would be easy for them to use open air pollination to produce loads of seeds.

I got their seeds to play around with, and I'm glad I have all these seeds for this purpose, and to give away as gifts. This year I grew a bunch of seeds from Getaway Mountain, got 4 females, kept the best one (Stumbleweed), and gave away the rest as I ran out of room on my deck. I grew 4 Dinafem Quick seeds, kept my best one (Quick Kush) and gave the other plants away. This leaves me with the two plant I have on my deck right now.

As of now, the Dinafem Quick Kush is doing much better than the Getaway Mountain Stumbleweed, has done so all along, and I believe it is much more likely to produce a nice harvest. Especially since the Quick Kush seems to be only a few weeks from finishing, is already super frosty, and has nice big colas. Unless we get a very rainy early September, those colas are a good thing, and the yield from that plant should be very nice. The Stumbleweed looks like it has at least a month to go, and has yet to produce substantial frostiness or large flowers, and has suffered the last month while the Quick Kush in the same conditions, fed the same nutrients, has flourished.

As far as the ones I gave away, it's the same deal, the Dinafem Quick strains are doing fantastic, while the Getaway Mountain strains are doing just okay. I'm now convinced that Quick Versions are the best bet for growing outdoors in our climate. It makes sense too because the faster flowering period inherited from the autoflowering parent, aligns right with our short growing seasons, but the plants do well outside because they are still photoperiod plants.

Next year I want some Fast Versions from Sweet Seeds. I'll grow some Dinafem Quick strains along with them, pick the best one from each of those breeders, and pit one against the other on my deck. I might even make a thread about it.

Dude...I'm shocked. I've never had one at this stage this early before. I'm going back and trying to look at pictures to figure out when it actually flipped. My guess is around July 18th. Meaning on Thursday I'll be 7 weeks into a 9 week (estimated) flower time. And they will be finishing around Friday the 13th in September.

The nice thing is that if they arent ready by then, I know I have a little runway to let them thicken up if they need it.

Hi Everyone,

Back with an update - I'm super lazy and posting pictures from iPhone to rollitup is a bit of a chore - so here's the IG page I've been tracking the outdoor grow (and indoor now!) - https://www.instagram.com/buddinggardeners/

Man - what a season for my first grow! I did 6 Auto Flowers and 1 Photo, split between a 4x2 raised bed and 3x 7g smarpots. That was so much fun, I popped 3 more photos (to move inside) and 2 more autos (in a small indoor tent!) As for the outdoor grow:
  • All three of my fastbuds Smoothie Autos have been doing amazing, 9 weeks from seed and I'd say I'm ready to harvest next weekend. Only issue I'm dealing with currently are gnats & moth worms. I can't spray anything this close to harvest, so I'm either going to put up some netting tonight, and lay out some sticky traps, or just keep doing 15 - 30m of inspection & tweezering each am / pm. It's soothing work at least?
  • As for the fastbuds West Coast OG Auto, what a wild ride these three have been. One of them struggled all along, I thought maybe root rot, or some other issue. Eventually is started to grow faster, and right as I was thinking I've gotten out of the water, it herm'd on me. On well, 1 outta 6 auto's herming, in my first grow, outdoors in New England? That's okay I think. The other two are equally interesting. One I completely left alone, no topping or training, and it's doing well. I'd say 2 weeks behind the Smoothie based on looks of the flowers. The one that I topped, and accidentally broke one of the main lower branches around the same week, has just exploded in growth. This lady is 4' tall, and 3' around... easily 6 - 8 primary colas, each looking to be as large as the main cola on the untouched plant. And talk about secondary colas... I'd say if this one continues, it's gonna be a mega yeilder. The one I left alone is fine and dandy, I'd estimate it'll yeild 1 - 2 Oz, and it's really made me believe Auto Flowers are the future of casual / home growing. (BOLD STATEMENT!!!)
  • The Honey Badger Haze Photoperiod plant is a champ. Largest thing I've grown this summer, and it started to show early flowers 1 - 2 weeks ago. So I'm worried about it actually finishing outside. Thankfully it's in a 7G smartpot and when / if things get below 50 in late sept / oct I'll bring her inside overnight. What a monster tho....
  • I popped 3 photos in early July to start outside and move indoors. One of them showed early signs of a male (bummer it was a Subcool Pennywise too, I was excited to grow). The other two are really cruising along and I'll move them in 2 - 3 weeks.

I started a small 2x2x4 tent inside powered by a 75W 3500k COB from rapidLED, and I've got two autoflowers going in there now (auto jack and super cyan haze). Also have my 2x4x5 tent setup, but it's just a bit too hot inside to feel good about moving plants inside. I think after next week I'll be good to go.

Sorry for the lack of pics again on the forum, hopefully the link to the gram will provide plenty. I'm bummed my schedule did work out so I missed Cannacon and I'll miss the Freedom Rally. However there's a gene-traders event next weekend in Plymouth I'm going to (learning & connecting with breeders) if anyone's attending LMK.

Thanks for reading fellow MA growers, let me know if anyone has any neat tricks for gnats / moth-works in late flower, I'm all ears.

Have a sweet cheese fast fem I germed in late june and threw out in the veggie patch just to see this year. Looking good and is definitely ahead of my other photos but not by much maybe only a week.

Will get a pic next time I'm at the garden.

Here’s a few more pics of my purpling issue I’m having. Not thinking genetic as 4 completely different strains are doing it but I will say, the three of my plants that get the most shade are doing it the most so maybe it is temp related? And I looked closely at them it’s definitely purple and not black at all. Rest of plant looks completely normal.

Also does anyone know where I can buy some quality genetics (seed or clone) locally? I’m sick of ordering seeds online would be nice to have someone local I can give my business to

Yes little more severe than I originally thaught. What are the genetics? And is it spreading?

The worse one is g13 labs Pineapple Express. The other one I showed is dinafem skunk1. My healthiest one is subcools spacequeen x gsc. Also note I’ve had these seeds for years stored in refrigerator I just wanted to use them up

I’ve also grew all these strains before (besides the spacequeen) indoors and always turned out perfect
