Massachusetts Outdoor Grow 2019

Found some bud rot (botrytis) yesterday in my Dinafem Quick Kush, just a little bit. Decided I would hold on until just before the next significant rain to harvest the plant. Severe thunderstorm warning this evening; tonight's the night. I waited until the rain started, chopped the plant asap, brought it inside... and the rain cleared up immediately. The rain lasted less than 10 mins, now it's clear and beautiful outside, not to rain again until Saturday. This plant could have used the couple extra days too.

I think I got good results from this plant overall. Judging from my experience growing indoor plants on hydroponics, I'm looking at about 12oz; will update when it's dry with the true weight. Growth was amazing; quick flowering period for sure, super beautiful, frosty, chunky nugs. However, nugs this dense and heavy lack the mold resistance needed for our climate. If we had another dry summery week, this plant would have finished beautifully, but we didn't, so I had to chop earlier than I would have liked.

I might gamble with this strain again next year, but because of the chunkiness of the buds, that's all it will be with this strain; a gamble. I'm still convinced that there is serious potential with F1 fast version (photoperiod X autoflowering) plants in our climate. I just need to find the right one.

This month up until Halloween is prime time striper fishing ime. Can't wait to hit the beach and get some surfcasting done now that the greenheads aren't so bad.

If I lived closer i would definitely hit the canal more often. Lots of people there though, fishing can get hectic. I'm a big fan of good ol fashioned bucktails fished on the jetties and chunking macks on the beach. Rigged up some dead eels with siwash hooks, very excited to use them more. They have great action.

Yea it's that time of year, i grew up fishing the canal ... i'm off shore now, but this time of year I put in at Monument Beach or Kingman, I sit right off the point of Scraggy, Wings Neck, or Mashnee and catch anything coming out of the canal into Buzzards Bay

You'll see me mostly at plum island. The Merrimack river mouth and beach have some great spots if you know how to read the water. Next year I plan on hitting more spots so I'll probably try out the areas you listed, thanks!

Thats a different plum island, I believe it's located in New York. I've read a few things about it and I believe it's just a conspiracy theory. They found 5300 year old mummy with lyme disease. https://www.livescience.com/18704-oldest-case-lyme-disease-spotted-iceman-mummy.html

Plum island in mass is still absolutely crawling with ticks but if you stick to the beaches and river mouth it's not a problem.

try 1 gal water mixed with 1 TBS baking soda, drop of liquid soap ... that kills it for me everytime
yea, I use baking soda, water and a drop of peppermint castile soap.

I also got a small bottle of trifecta, which is a bunch of essential oils and shit... works great but it's expensive compared to a home-made mixture.

Man...some crazy weather. I had a bunch of casualties from about 10min of rain and wind. Didnt get them inside in time.

Had no idea a few minutes would mean snapped stalks. Sucks. Gotta love growing outdoors in MA!

So Im trying to prepare for when my outdoor buds get bigger I always have tons of morning dew on my plants and takes a while for the sun to burn it off. I’m obviously trying to avoid mold best I can. I was thinking of a couple oscillating fans on a timer just in the morning to get some airflow to them however I have nothing covering my garden so does anyone know of any reasonably priced outdoor fans? Gotta be waterproof obviously but I don’t wanna spend a ton of money either. My garden abuts my deck for the house so technically I could mount a couple there to keep them out of direct rain but would still have to be somewhat water resistant. And ideas?

When that first nasty rain storm hit about 1 month ago, I supported all my heavier nodes with some additional garden wire. This last rainstorm really drenched the buds, but they all held up at least. I couldn't cover them, so support as the best option.
