Thanks for your reply and the one before!

I havent had major rot before. How quickly can it set in? Would it show on a few colas one day and then be plant-wide the day after or would it slowly take a crop over a week if the spots were plucked out?

Last year we had rot here and there but kept picking it out and lasted long enough to get a harvest but you guys seem to be talking something worse.

For scale im guessing at full ripeness this would be a ~5-6 pound grow based on last year...all personal use so im not worried about a bud here or there just dont want to lose a huge volume overnight.
Hope this helps .
Bud rot (also known as gray mold or botrytis) is one of the most devastating fungal diseases to hit marijuana crops. It thrives in cool temperate climates where a high level of humidity is present.
It is so harmful to your plants that it could destroy your whole garden of marijuana plants in less than one week! It will kill anything in its path

Awesome.

Based on these responses I’ll probably cut at least half the big colas as a precaution :)

Harvested a Tennessee kush and satellite Cindy tonight.
Damn, those are some burly plants... great job. I broke out the drying box and set up the harvesting table in the greenhouse yesterday... but it's just wishful thinking ... I'm going to let them go as long as they need, probably another 2-3 weeks ... I do have a couple in pots that appear to to be a little further along, but still no amber to be found.

Everyone’s starting there chopping, I chopped 1 on Sunday, definitely a bit early, going to wait out the next 2 weeks on the other 4. Waiting on these integra boost packs and digi hygrometers from Amazon

Thanks they definitely surpassed my expectations. Do you add any heat to your greenhouse or use a dehumidifier? I've been thinking of building one with some sort of pellet stove inside to keep temps above the dew point at nights.

Only have enough room to dry one plant at a time, but luckily my other three plants still need another week or two and I have plastic over them now so I should be in the clear
Yes i will stop crying about having to trim my little baby plants now !

Time to break out the construction trash bags and sealed buckets and start digging holes because i'm not sure what the weight limit in mass is but i pretty sure i'm over it so you gotta be over by 5x what i got !

Yea, I use a dehumidifier in there. I have a Dri-Eaz 1200. The link is to buy new from Amazon, but you can get them used for much cheaper, and they're so easy to service. It pulls about 15 gallons a day out of the air. Every night about an hour before dusk I close the 4 windows, leaving them each open about an inch or two, and turn it on. RH levels outside have been consistently 90+ at night, but the greenhouse stays at about 70... it also raises the nighttime temps about 5-10 degrees above the outside temps... so it's definitely doing it's job. In the morning on a sunny day, I'll open all windows and shut it off. On a day like today where it's overcast and rainy I'll let it run through the day.

If I get to a point where temps will get really low into freezing... and if I don't expect the dehumidifier to raise the temps enough... I'll use a small propane heater similar to THIS . I was able to do the calculations and found that 30k BTU will heat a greenhouse my size from 20 deg to 40 deg... so something small like this should work for those one or two nights at the end, if I need it. It wouldn't be economical to run on a consistent basis though. I've also considered using a small mini-split ductless system, which could heat, cool, and dehumidify....they're easy to put in and have become pretty affordable... but I honestly don't think I'll ever have the need.

The one thing I'll have to work on for next year is heat-management. On a really sunny 80-85 degree day it can quickly heat up to 100 degrees plus. I framed off a 24x24 opening above the doorway and at the opposite end as well. Before next year starts I'm going to install a large exhaust fan above the door and vent opposite that. I'll put that on a thermostat to kick on when temps hit 80 degrees or so... I'm hoping that'll keep temps down on really hot days. I'll probably also pull the sashes out of all the windows to add more ventilation.

Damn that dehuey is badass. Two of those would be cheaper than the pellet stove i was looking at and would be much easier to use. Ventilation on hot days seems like a bitch but with a big enough exhaust fan it should be manageable. I'm also looking into sulphur burners to use at beginning of flower to completely eradicate any mold spores that might be on the plants. It's going to be a lot of money getting it all set up but I like the idea of having strains actually ripen and not having to cut early, should get better yields too.

Found some more mold on the plants but most of it was in the smaller buds here and there, none on the main colas. Most of the cindys are really kicking ass this year. Letting them ride until saturday, then I'll check the trichomes for doneness.

Think your allowed 10oz in the house, not sure if it’s doubled with your spouse like the plants are.
