Material to help with air exchange...

growwwww

Im starting a new little fun project,

im going to be doing a micro grow ( similar to pc ) but in an amp.

On the back of the amp i and drilling holes, to help with heat. But i want it to be light proof. The holes will be an inch in diameter does anyone know any material that i can fill in the holes with, which will let air go in and out, but block the light.

I was thinking cotton wool??? but i was thinking it would insulate it too much or maybe just not work. I was maybe thinking chopped up paper and cut out wire mesh on either side of the hole to keep the paper in, the wood is a good few inches thick.

Peace

I have a small grow box. The method i used for ventilation uses some pvc pipe. Take a couple very short pieces of pipe and a couple right angles, glue them together, and spray paint black on the inside.
I strongly recommend some type of active (fan) ventilation though. I get a 10 degree difference just with 26 watts inside the box, without the fan.

Ah clever, i can just use PVC coming inside at a right angle instead of the other, my theory is... most probably wont work...BUt heat rises so if i have the holes at the top the heat will just diffuse out. Its a work in process will get going like this week.

Cheers
