Maui Waui from Nirvana, 250 watt hps 84 watt cfl, DWC

This is my second grow, had some success with jack herer bagseeds and decided that buying stabilized genetics from across the Atlantic was worth it. Sent cash to Nirvana and it was lost on the way. Paid with plastic and I had seeds ten days later. I am working in a mylar lined grow tent that I picked up off of ebay for under a hundred bucks. I have one 250 watt hps light and two 42 watt cfls. I am currently using Flora Nova-Bloom from GH (4-8-7) and a hint of Cal-Max (2-0-0) in a DWC setup. I intend to switch to compost tea (brewed with worm castings, bat guano, and molasses) in a couple weeks but for now I am pumpin em full of nutes. I am currently two weeks into flowering (this particular strain has a flowering time of approximately 9-11 weeks).



1/23 - Seeds were germinated (day 1)

1/24 - Seedlings were placed in Roc-Wool starter plugs (day 2)

2/04 - Seedlings in initial DWC system (day 6)
2/19 - Transferred to flowering tent and modified. Farthest left was left to grow naturally, center was topped for two colas, and the right was lollipopped. Nutrient levels @ 700 ppm, Flora Nova-Grow (day 21)

2/25 - Pistols developed and lights were switched from 18/6 to 12/12 and nutrients were switched to Bloom formula, PPM increased to 1200 (day 27)





3/4 - Whole view of plants, light change recognized.

3/11 - Things are looking good as far as I can tell..

Flowers continue to come in. I will cease foliage feeding with nutrient enhanced seltzer water, only clean water for another two weeks or so. PPM is currently at 1600 and PH at 5.5. Currently my res contains only GH Flora Nova Bloom and Cal-Max (Cal, Mag, Iron supplement). I was thinking about adding honey or molasses as a carbohydrate supplement. I'll be making a trip to the hydro store later this week and the lady there is typically very friendly and helpful, but any suggestions for other supplements or additives?

Day 58




Sexy bitches are startin' to dense up. Going to the hydro store for some bat guano in the morning. I was thinking of brewing a tea up consisting of bat guano, kelp/seaweed extract, and molasses. I feel like I am still about 5-6 weeks short of harvest and my tent stays warm when the lights on so I was thinking foliage feeding should still be cool. Would it be a bad idea to mix the tea into the res with my nute solution? Also, the smell is not as strong as I thought it would be. There is a smell, just not as strong as I would expect. My last grow lacked an overwhelming smell but I just blamed it on those plants' genetics. If you have any tips that would benefit the aesthetics of these ladies, I would greatly appreciate them.

Thanks! Tallest spire is probably a couple inches short of three feet. I wanna get one of these girls outside, i wouldn't be surprised to see em push 6-7 feet as long as the roots could grow deep enough.

Yeah that Maui Waui is 'spose to be super tall when grown outside- those pistils are looking good tho man- poppin up everywhere and lots of bud sites all up and down the stem- great job
Did you record how tall they were when you flipped to 12/12? I am wondering how much they have stretched since the switch.

I did not record but based on my pictures I would guess all 3 were some where between 8 and 12 inches, here are some photos from around that time.. They have definitely tripled in size since ive switched light and i still have close to a month before I'll be harvesting

Flowers continue to fill in. I've began adding molasses to the reservoir. I've also been foliar feeding with a molasses/bat guano tea, just to ensure the final product is as aesthetically pleasing as I'd like it to be. Here are some photos, as always very welcomed to suggestions and comments!

Whoa man- fuck yeah they are at least 3x as tall, prolly more. Looking great! the buds are fattening up nicely too.

I could fit four pretty easily I think, the DWC res that I am using now isnt very space efficient. I've got four clones in some soil veggin now, Ill fit four 10-12 inch pots in there no problem.

As for 3+ ounces per plant, I'd be happy with 1.0-1.5 per plant. I don't think I have enough light in the box for a yield like that. Would be nice though..

I have want to see a Maui Waui grow for a while now. Very nice looking plants there! Keep up the good work.

How big is the grow tent? Those seem to be really large buds there, your a natural green thumb, great job for 2nd grow my friend.

Yeah they were feminized from Nirvana, threw three in a paper towel and had 100% germ rate. Grow tent is 5.5 ft high 3 ft wide and 1.5 ft deep, give or take a couple inches. Appreciate the praise!
