No go on the space blankets from something I was reading. It lets light through and it's lost. At least from what I was reading ...let me try to find it. Panda film was on the list I believe and also painting?

Emergency Blankets:
These are ultra thin polyester blankets that are sold in most camping stores and are constructed of a single layer of polyester film that is covered with a layer of vapor deposited aluminum.

It is not very effective at reflecting light because it is so thin. Holding it between you and a light source, many small holes are noticed at the intersections of creases and the entire blanket is translucent to begin with, this coupled with the many creases that are in it when you purchase it takes away a significant amount of it reflectivity. It is very easily creased as well which also detracts from its ability to reflect light. And while it is reflects nearly 90% of radiant heat energy, it is only able to reflect around 70% of the light.

The largest advantage of using this type of material is that it is very cheap and therefore easily replaced. Emergency blankets can create hotspots if not attached flush to the wall so it is important that no air gaps exist between it and your supporting wall. The easiest way to attach this is to use tape (Aluminum or metal tape is recommended), as it tears very easily once it is cut or punctured.

I would think the light getting behind it would still be lost. Like keeping a room dark or letting light in. I wouldn't know I'm using a tent to grow in.

Hey brother I'm a total noob to this so time will tell. .got 2 seedlings. .8 different seeds down an 6 different strains on the way from os..so atm just experimenting to find what works

I mean I'm sure that is still going to work. But you would want a flat service to reflect in. Not get lost behind things. Just my opinion.

If you wanna tack something on the walls get some panda film...not a emergency blanket to keep your body warm to trap heat within.

But if you have a DIY room to begin with then you can also paint it. Which from what I was just reading is that it is easier to clean.

Hey if it's no good i can pull it off and stay with what i had
I was going to go with the space blanket route too ..but the cost for a 4x4x6.6 would of been annoying to try and build. To save time and money I just got a tent for like $120. I could of tried and got a tiny 2x2x2 for like $60 but ...why? I wanted a real yield. :bigjoint:
