The Progressive always wants to be selective with citizens rights. If a person doesn't fit their criteria, then fuck-em, they aren't really Americans anyway. I just love the hypocracy of the Proggies, they're so transparent.
I fixed it for you, Meddie.

McCain is a Progressive Republican. He merely tries to act Conservative when it suits him.

Because he reaches across the aisle on certain issues?

I'd say pseudo-RINO

He doesn't support gay rights, earmarks or abortion
Gay rights and abortion are not really Conservative issues. They are Republican issues taken up to appease the religious loons.

True Conservatives understand that both issues are Constitutional in nature.

Gay rights is an equality issue.

Abortion is a privacy issue.

Earmarks are another issue entirely. :spew:

Exactly why I left the Republican party, the religious right took over. Conservatism took a back seat to religious ethos.

Not that you need it but +rep for you Johnny, we dont see eye to eye on everything but we have some similar positions

I would love to see you explain social conservatism without touching on Gay Rights or Abortion

I don't feel compelled to do so because I am not a Social Conservative.

Perhaps you could explain to me how any self-respecting Liberal could oppose any Amendment contained within the Bill of Rights....

<<<raises hand
I know! I know!
it's because it's living and breathing lmao

If a cop pulls me over for speeding I wonder if I can use the living and breathing thing on the Speed limit "that limit is old, the people who made that speed limit didn't realize cars would brake and handle better in the future"

Neither major political party has any consistency regarding natural rights. Looking for answers within the status quo political structure will only lead to the discovery of contradictions, rationalizations and finger pointing.

I submit this thread and dozens of others on this forum as evidence. I rest my case your honor.
