Medical Marijuana Registry asks for input.

This is the text from The cdphe website asking for input on caregiver patient relationships. I figure if anyone should be speaking up on this it is us. I have not drafted my letter yet but i do intend on making sure it is complete and concise. When has your pharmacist ever offered to clean your house or get you a massage. And they are allowed to make a profit. December 3rd is the cut off for the letters so get them in soon.

The Medical Marijuana Registry program is asking for input from the public and interested parties to help draft a rule to take to the Marijuana Advisory Committee regarding primary caregivers. The proposition that the voters approved in 2000 stated that a primary caregiver must have significant responsibility for managing the well-being of a patient who has a debilitating medical condition.
A new 2010 Colorado law requires a working definition for significant responsibility for managing the well-being of a patient. The 2010 law also states that a primary caregiver simply supplying medical marijuana itself is NOT sufficient to have significant responsibility for managing the well-being of a patient who has a debilitating medical condition.
Is significant responsibility helping the patient with daily tasks, such as cooking, bathing, or other household chores? Is it arranging medical care across several medical providers? What makes a person a primary caregiver?

Comments on how to define significant responsibility for managing the well-being of a patient with a debilitating medical condition should be sent to [email protected]
Comments will be accepted until December 3, 2010. The comments will be used at a Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for December 8.

"A primary caregiver must have significant responsibility for managing the well-being of a patient who has a debilitating medical condition."

ALL primary caregivers already HAVE a significant responsibility for managing the well-being of a patient. Whether the primary caregiver (or patients) are fulfilling their duty remains the question.
Any caregiver worth their salt must know not only all aspects of MMJ (including strains, dosages, alternatives) but also what the patients unique needs are based on their debilitating medical condition.
You must know the differences between Indicas and Sativas, to smoke or vaporize? Edibles, tinctures? And what properly grown strains are best for the patient. In a nutshell: a caregiver is a natural pharmacist, a skilled farmer, a health care worker and in many cases, a trusted companion. You are the ultimate doctor because you offer hope where there is none and without shoving opiates or poisons down peoples throats. A good caregiver listens and learns his patients needs... and spreads the knowledge of lessons learned to others. Does this not sound like the true definition of 'Doctor'? It does... because it is. All the state and CDPHE are trying to do is regulate and control matters even further... including certifications for caregivers, licenses (above and beyond Amend #20). Mark my words.

This is exactly why i posted this on here, if they are going to offer a chance to hear us on any of this i think we, in particular the more eloquent, well spoken of us should take it. Make sure they hear all of this, and even volunteer a little extra they didn't ask for. They specifically state that the more responses they get to this the more time they will spend on it. So everyone should write in and make an effort to be as professional as possible and get them to understand how much care we do provide. I am not going to go too far into my arguments here, as i feel we should all state our own opinions, but i think it is VERY important to state them while we have a chance. Maybe we can slow or possibly stop further certifications and the like, (imo) none of us want inspectors in our gardens, regardless of how clean and well we do things.

This kinda sucks ya know. I am a caregiver and patient with brain damage I could nowhere near be poised enough but would love to voice my opinion.

Free no one is truly free laws are leashes and they will find a way to pull the leash.

Ya know they dont make pharmaceutical company's jump these hurdles look at the warning labels on commercials, and do they take care of all the pill popping overdosers no they prescribe something new. F_CKED UP!!
