Medium mayday :o

Hey guys, I need some stuff clearing right up!

Since i got the brilliant thought of growing the good stuff, i had the worry of the media on which my plants will be in...

Is there a good media that will mean i can put germinated seeds in and just water, lamp and it will grow?

I was thinking of doing 1/2 soil, 1/4 perlite 1/4 vermiculite but then i thought bout rockwool cubes and maybe i could first get the plant going in rockwool cubes then place the cubes into the soil mix?

please clear this up somebody, you will save my plants from an early grave :O

Please if anyone has any thoughts about my 1/2 soil, 1/4 perlite, 1/4 vermiculite, please comment? Im also thinking about germinating a seed, putting in rockwool cube, putting cube in soil mix and 400w HPS and water daily.

If you want to grow it without nutes then go to Subcools Oldschool Organics in the Organic Forum...and look at the super soil thread

Yes exactly subcools plant and just water soil method would be the only way to go. It is such a good recipe that Hightimes did a feature on his soil mix. Not to mention one of his strains "Space Bomb" is on the cover of the most recent issue of High Times and is one of the top 10 strains of the year. I would say he knows what's up.

Ok ive looked around and now ordered some 3" rockwool cubes to get my seed babys going , once i get roots i think im 110% safe thanks RIU for suport and il post some good pics of my plants

first time growing and ive already decided to sea of green it LOL

Nice, those are the big ol cubes tho, if you plan to germinate in the rockwool then transfer to the soil you dont need the big cubes. Good luck man, post some pics when you get it going :/

thanks mate, im just taking things one step at a time if u get me... budget is tight at the moment with a family at christmas but ive got afew pages of research and some website links and prices, i recon i can get 400w HPS, all growing media and nutes for about £100 so im quite happy atm
