Hello, I have been using hydroton for years. things just dont seem to be working as well as when i first started... my yields have fallen off. quality is as good or better. but just not as fast and big:wall: .... so here is my question..does hydroton absorb salts and go bad after a few years:weed:. I wash the hydroton with h2o2 and and rinse well between each use to the point of over kill ... shit just isnt going as well my roots seem to be just sitting there where as before they grew all out the container and all over.. same nutrients:-( same everything .... i dont get it:wall:.
are my rocks beat ?????????:fire:

what other media is the best.... i dont like rock wool for some reason .. i dont know how to get rid of it ...huge mess to put in the trash.. how about coca fiber.... if my rocks are not the issue then maybe my strains are poooping out ...has anyone ever mixed hydro ton and coco fiber???? half and half????

suggestions anyone... whats everyones favorite media and why??
what is the flood schedule of the different media.. :dunce:

thanx in advance

:finger: lol

COCO CROUTONS are my favorite for Hydro. I even like cutting them in half when putting them in the net pot. Makes them all fit in there a little more snug.
Coco works fine mixed with Hydroton. What mostly sets the coco apart from the hydroton, is the coco's ability to house life for beneficial bacteria and fungus.

What hydro setup were you going to use? I've read somewhere that coco croutons cant be used in DWC because they float... I just have to say that it's sorta true and sorta not. Most of my chips stop floating once they sucked in enough water. Amending the coco with hydroton should also keep it from having any sorta float. Which like I said should actually go away once you have soaked them chips.

I am over the hydroton also, cant even keep my mothers healthy in it for longer than 3 months. I have to transplant with clean rock to get mine to come back. I do Aero for clones through flowering and started keeping my mothers in soil. In aero I spray for 7 seconds every 15 minutes.

Sunleaves Rocks are a reusable growing medium with serious H20-holding power for use in any kind of garden. They're made by superheating shale to temperatures up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, rendering them pH-neutral and chemically inert. Make your life a little easier while you take care of your plants and the planet: grow with the rock that doesn't roll! Mined and manufactured in the United States.
