does anyone know if a 1000w MH in a 400w ballast gives out the same light spectrum as 400w MH in the same ballast?

cose i was just connecting my ballast and bought a 400w hps and though i was buying 400w mh but the guy at the store gave me the wrong one so i have a 1000w MH connected now and it shines this greenish light but i thought i was suposed to be blue.

Take the bulb back!!! NEVER use mismatched elecrical components!!!! Risk of fire , or fatal electrocution!!! No joke!!! get the right bulb for the ballast NOW!!!

Yeah dude your shit sounds all mixed up. Take it all back and get it sorted out for real. I wouldn't use it at all yet either in case it fucks it up the store might not want to take it back, even if it was their fault in the first place.

So are you saying you have a 1000w MH Bulb in a 400w HPS Ballast? Your kinda mixing up terms or not describing whats what at all.
If thats the case that would definitely be suck messed up looking light.

Why do you have a 1000 watt bulb for a 400w ballast in the first place?!

A standard mh bulb will look white, I have a mh bulb designed for veg so it puts out blue light.
A hps puts out orange light.

When you say light you mean bulb?
So what ballast do you have then, hps or mh?
