I'm using 2 36 gallon containers, both 18.6 inches tall ... I just transplanted and letting um go a week in 50 gallon with a few mixed spectrum cfl lights "6" for now ... 4 days and 2 cool's ... with this limited space, what point is best to start 12/12 to keep them around 2 1/2 feet "givin the half a foot for the lights at the top ..."

I'm not concerned on yield, its solely for learning and getting a few test bowls outta the deal. :hump:

Dark... can you post a picture?

are you growing these plants in Garbage cans? 36 gallon containers are HUGE!
A 1-5 gallon container would be fine... especially if you are using CFLs

How many nodes do you have?

An 18 inch plant in veg is enormous for a CFL grow... Cfls have very poor penetration and do their best work on short plant... 4-8 inches tall...

cheers

Sure, here's what they'll be growing in once i get the fans in, using a 200w PS and it stills need the interior painted a white ... you'll see in the other pic the white on black ran cause i was in a hurry, its just temp ... And the plants look quite sad, with some damage on one of the leaves as you can see ... i thought was cause i waited to long for transplant ..

I had re-read my post ... sorry i wasn't clear ... the 36 rubbermaids are 18.6 inches tall each, giving me just under 40 inches of grow height .. then taking in the factor of the lights ... There currently in a 50 gallon rubbermaid till the other boxes had the fans installed and painted a white ... so i was curious when a good time to flower "if they get healthy again" to keep them off height ... lst is also an option i'll prolly do if that time comes ... You can obviously see there not near that point ... runts at 15 days i think ...

Could keeping them in small cups for 15 days have stunted growth .. they grew quickly then just seemed to slow down ... i did replant them into the pots that are shown ...

Hey DArk,

Make sure you are not over watering.. only water when the soil is dry...

I would start flowering in the next 3-5 days.

please keep the pictures coming :)

Will do, gotta get fresh batteries for the digital today or tomorrow ... took those quick with the cell ... They started growing again now at a noticable rate after transplant ... when should i pick up some nutes for them "there are 3" only two in the pictures ... also i didn't really water them much after the transplant ... to try to let it dry out, but the larger one is still wilted ... could it be he needs water or because he's bigger having a harder time to come outta shock from the transplant ?? ... otherwise there stinky little buggers allready and the new growth seems to be looking very good ... It has been a seed grow, using scotts premium potting soil ... adding another 4 lights tomorrow ... since were gonna head into veg should i add all 4 cool? "2700"?

To begin flowering it would be 6 cool's with 2 day's ... i have another 3 sockets to for side use also ... still alot of work to do ...

Day 17 in veg ... they felt really light so i went ahead and gave them a good watering ... the largest was wilted and perked back up over night ... here they are ...

There's also a third one who's the runt of the 3 but alot bushier than plant2 "p2" ... the discoloring has seemed to stop after transplant .... today or tomorrow the box should be finished for there final resting place ..

Day 18 in veg, started 12/12 today with them in the new box ... still in the top layer as there not tall enough to move um down ... the lights can be raised or lowered ... I was at home depot today and was looking over some plant food, all jumped in ranges from like 5-15-10 and lower to 5-50-25 "example" ... When should i begin to use nutes and could someone give me an idea on what type and how to lean them into the food so i don't burn them ...

I also tried to pickup a PH tester since i think it could be outta wack an making the plants look off ... but for now they actually had nothing .. or the people there didn't know wtf they were looking for ...

Here is a pic of them in there new home and with the light ... Yes thats a dog bowl for a drain catcher =P

Any tips, or if you see something seriously wrong in the pictures ... feedback is very much welcomed ... i'd like to atleast get some yield ... ammount isn't of concern .. just a success story. :blsmoke:

Yesterday i went out for dinner and a movie and came home to see them seriously wilted, the one was in a u shape from bending over ... i felt the pots and they were light again, not sure but i keep reading every 4-6 days ... mine seem to require every 2 days or there just not happy ... do i need bigger pots, should they be getting food ?

I watered them and they perked back up .. the largest ones big fan leaves allways seem to droop ... so i've been taking that as normal for him ... other wise there growing ok ..

hey man nice plants and setup, idk if you back away your plants just to take pics or not but if your using just all CFLs get your plants alot closer. Im also using CFLs and i keep my plants 1-2 inches away from the lights. Some side lighting would help a shit load too. Hope this helps, peace.

Hey man, thanks ... Yeah there rigged to the top lid using rope to raise and lower ... when i lift the box off to take pics they raise about 4-5 inches ... i keep them no more than 1 to 2 inches away ... just enough they don't touch the bulbs ...

Its best to use a mixed spectrum. Since you are flowering now, i would do something like 5 2700k (soft white) and 3 6500k (daylight). But if you only use on, go with the soft white aka 2700k

The current spectrum is 4 5700 and 4 2700 ... there's 1 of each on a socket alternated down the vanity strip ... should i arrange the lights differently or is this good? ... hasn't givin me a problem yet, but as first timer ... i realize things could change quick ... In one of the previous pics you can't see the color of the bulbs, but there evenly split on spectrums ...

Lights will be turning on soon ... i can check on them and see how there doing and possiblly add a few more pics of there growth.

Thanks for the help guys, i appreciate it.

Before reading last night to just leave dying leaves do there thing till around 75% death to snip them off ... well, i didn't know ... I sniped the 2 lowest leafs on all three plants ... there still growing and don't see them stunted as of yet if it happens right away or not ... they grew up into the lights yesterday and alittle bit of damage on the one plant ... raised the lights and waiting for um to turn on again today to check on um ... Just someone tell me i didn't mess um up ... 4th day of flowering. :-?

While we wait, here's a few pictures to questions that have come up ... such as how far apart are my lights and what not ...

Here is a peek inside from the top ---

Here is a shot of the inside lights on the plants, i took the picture look inside from one of the exhaust fans so thats why you see vertical lines .. its the fan spinin ...

Day 4 of flowering, nothing special ... looks like a few hairs on the middle plant in the center of the cola ... could be wrong ..

Also, if you look close the top plant looks like sick ... he's been that way since birth, i think he's a different strain and has been the runt of pair ... this is bagseed from anything i've gotten from high mids to low mids ... no bagbrown seeds here .... could it be his strain or anyone have an idea?

And here's a closeup pic of the runt in question ---

How am i doing guys? .... first timer with alot of guessing ...

I could really use some advice on foxgrows big bloom as this is what i'll be picking up at alocal store in the coming week ... should i start at half of what they recommend ... should i make a large batch each time say in a bucket of sort ?
