I was just browsing the web for pricing on new air stones, and I found this guy.

The description is quit interesting, it reads:

Micro-Pore Air Diffusers increase the oxygen level in your hydroponics nutrient solution. Often referred to as a bubbler, these glass air stones are safe to use and will not react with your nutrients. Known to extend the life of nutrient solutions for all types of hydroponics.

Durable Micro-Pore Diffusers produce smaller, more prolific of bubbles for maximum aeration. They are easy to clean and will last a life time with proper handling. Will not clog or break down like compressed silicates diffusers.

Here's a link to the product as well...

Is this thing worth the $25 for the "micro" bubbles? Anyone have any experience with the product? Thx for the input guys

Do they really work that much better than traditional airstones?? I mean, it is 10x the price...
Well, with a higher powered pump it makes ur res look like a crazy jacuzzi :). I'd only recommend getting it for DWC. For other systems its a waste. (And remember that dissolved oxygen content is more about the temp of your water than what airstone your using)

Yeah they work great. You have to clean them once every 2 months but I have 4 in my systems right.

I would just caution you to get a higher psi air pump to get the most out of them. There is no use of getting these with a low psi ($20) pump. U need to spend at least $50 on a pump.
Perhaps this product: http://www.amazon.com/Commercial-Air-Pump-Outlets-Minute/dp/B002JPRNOU/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1315201049&sr=8-18

What he said, you have to clean them a lot, to me its not worth it. My 4 dollar cylinder air stones work great and I can dump them after my grows.

+ rep to everyone on this thread!

Thank you guys for the input.

I think I'll just stick with the basic airstones in my dwc for now,
until I have some extra $ for the micro-pore setup (with a high psi pump... thx theinhibitor)
