When checking mine, I get out one of my penlight LED's, and try to get several different angles, because as I change angles, some might look cloudy for a sec, then from just below there, I can clearly see they are still clear.
Sometimes, holding the glass in the same position and moving the light will tell what's what.
Basically, I am waiting until I can't see them so shiny, or the first couple amber to show.
