Mid-flowering deficiency experience needed for Sub's super soil

Hello Everyone.

I am in my 5th week of flowering on my first grow and noticed my sativa starting to show (what I think are) signs of a deficiency.

Now, I have noticed some gnats crawling on top of my soil after my last azamaxx treatment 2-3 weeks ago, but they are not flying around inside the tent and I don't see a whole lot of them. Another thing is that I might not have been giving this plant enough cal n mag with RO water. I was doing just about 1 tsp per gal until this past week, instead of the recommended 1.75/2.

Here are the pics:

Some of the worser-looking leaves that I trimmed off yesterday:

Some browning/yellowing occuring at the tips of the uppermost leaves starting to scare me:

Any input appreciated!

Cheers!

Be careful throwing things at the problem until we really know what's going on. Can you tell me more about any nutrients you are using and some specifics like that?

So you're also using a liquid cal- mag additive? I used to add CaMg+ to my RO water and had similar problems. I stopped using it after I noticed what it did to the pH of my water... 1tsp/gal dropped it to under 5! I don't know if I had a bad batch or what, but I chucked it and added dolomite lime and oyster shell to my mix next run. Easier and cheaper than bottles, and plants have never been happier.

@endpro I added about 2 cups of super soil earlier this week. I'm hoping that + the increased cal-mag will stop the problem

@Spatula Boy I test my pH and its normally about 7 without calmag, and it drops to anywhere between 6.4-6.7 with the added calmag so I don't think that's the problem.

I have had other symptoms but not like that, per se. Misting or foiler feed would give you quicker results. If it's not in flowering.

Uh oh! I topdressed a little last week because I figured it wouldn't hurt, and I added more just now with a little added bone meal, and after watering noticed these in the runoff!

I did an azamaxx treatment 2-3 weeks ago so they must be new due to a contaminated topdress or the added molasses last watering could have attracted them I guess? The gnat is old news, but what are these little white fuckers and how can I ensure they don't ruin my crop?

Those little bugs are spring tails, they dont eat plants. They are in the bottom cause they like moist enviroments. They just help break down plant matter. They can really get going via population lol. I had millions once

Yea when I water I let the water fill up like in the pics for just a few mins then I empty it to make sure there is no stagnant water.

Thanks for your input @nova1992

Okay thats great, if you get fabric pots you wont have runoff that you have to empty. I use fabric pots, soak the rootball till about a quarter/half a cup comes out the bottom and leave the run off, the pot absorbs the extra water and i havent had any problems with any bugs since switching pots, also never get rootbound! I use geo pots, they are better quality than smart pots but they are canadian, dunno if you can get geo pots elsewhere..
Next run you might wanna try them, you wont get springtails on the bottom of your pot.
But springtails are not going to harm your crop so dont worry :) they are actually pretty cute. I had globular springtails, look it up, they are so fkn cute and when you poke them they go flying into the air, no wings, just springy.
No problem, if you have any more questions then dont be afraid to ask! I will help the best i can
