Midwest Medical Grow - Soil & Indoor

Ok - The grow has not really started yet so I am not going to go into great detail about the setup because the setup itself is under major construction.

3 of us have put in only 3 8 hour days working on this so far, I really wish I had some before pics but unfortunately I don't.

The room size is 21ftx6ftx9ft, We have built one wall and just begin dry waling, we added a door and also installed extra locks on the outside doors. The room has one window and is below and atic..we will use the atic for air exhaust. The room has a natural gasoline so we are considering getting a co2 generator. We plan to add an AC likely a portable one and we have a heater and dehumidifier. We are considering an ozone unit in the atic and/or carbon filter canister in the corner on the wooden structure.

We currently do have some seedlings going and some seeds germinating - current seedlings featured are Barney's Farm Sweat Tooth Feminized. They where started outdoors about 10 days ago and have broke soil under cfls 3 days ago, the bulbs where way to far away so they have stretched a lot but I have just now put them under 1000W Metal Halide.

Germinating we have: White Widow, Pineapple Chunk, Flowerpower, Lowryder, 2x Bagseed which is predominately indica, 1 sweat tooth, [FONT=Tahoma, sans-serif]DNA Genetics Lemon Skunk, Vanilla Kush.[/FONT]

[FONT=Tahoma, sans-serif]All seeds I am using are feminized except the bagseed. I have many other strains to try also for later.[/FONT]

[FONT=Tahoma, sans-serif]We are using soil, I am using 1 Part Mg organic choice, 1 part pearlite, and 1 part spaghum moss for these seedlings, The germinating ones are in the jiffy pellets in the cab.[/FONT]

2 days later

We have finished the door and wall, we have drywalled over the windows also.

The ventilation system we installed yesterday features 8 inch insulated flexible air ducting, We added an 8 inch 500cfm for the exausht going into the attic, We have a 10 inch fan attatched to the ducting that is coming in the window blowing in fresh cold air at a pretty high rate, We also have 2 box fans in the room circulating air but only one is hooked up right now.

The lights we are currently using are 1x 1000w Metal Halide - and for our seedlings we have 3x DAYLIGHT 5500K CFL BULBS. We plan to add a 1000w HPS for for flowering and in the distant future several more HPS. The box you see in the pic is what will be used for a future mother, The wooden structure in the back corner will be our VEG room and the metal halide will go in there, since we are only vegging right now we are using the main space which will be the future flowering area for our first veging cycle.

The Temperature and Humidity Highest Temp: 79F, Lowest Temp 65F (night time), Average temp is about 73F. Humidity has been between 40% and 80% - We have a de-humidifier ready to install soon.


Current PH of soil is between 6 and 7, The water we are using is distilled and is between 7 and 8. (need to get it a little lower overall)

We wiped all surfaces including walls, floor, and cieling with a highly concentrated lysol and water mix and vaccummed today.


The oldest seedlings are now 5 days old since breaking soil (the two sweat tooth girls in the blue cups) - The spent the first 3 days under CFL and now have been moved ot metal halide 1000w for two days.

The germinating seeds are in a JIFFY GREENHOUSE - So far Vanilla Kush and Lemon skunk have poped from the soil.

Just want to mention: FEEL FREE TO POST IN THIS THREAD IT IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

Still on day 5 since our first sprouts.

Ok well here is a total strain list for you guys, We are trying out many strains to see which ones work best for our enviroment.

Currently Germinating or Seedling:

1. Barneys Farm Sweat Tooth (x2) (Feminized) - 5 day old seedlings
2. Low Lyfe Easy Rider (autoflower) (x1) (Feminized) - has not sprouted
3. Flower Power (autoflower) (x1) (Feminized) - has not sprouted.
4. Barneys Farm Pineapple Chunk (x1) (Feminized) - has not sprouted.
5. Seedsman White Widow (x1) (feminized) has not sprouted.
6. Barneys Farm Vanilla Kush (x1) (feminized) one day old seedling.
7. Unknown Bagseed (x2) (non-feminized) 1x one day old seedling. 1x has not sprouted.
8. Lemon Skunk (x1) Feminized. One day old seedling.

We got 4 patients so far and more to come, hopefully i can get my patient card I am just a caregiver for now

you might be better off not germing the bagseed and just clone out a few of those fem seeds.

Yea , we are going to keep a real close eye on them and beleive me my machette is ready for em, We do have 5 trained sets of eyes so hopefully we should catch anything

Just want to mention again that we are all very new at this so again ANY feedback is highly appreciated.

im on a perpetual grow, 3 rooms. 1 veg/clones and 2 flower rooms.

Start of Day 6 - 8:20 AM (Mini-update)

Not a whole lot to report as this update is only roughly 8 hours from the last one - NO NEW SEEDLINGS HAVE BROKEN SOIL YET:

Lemon Skunk has shed its shell and shown its first true leaves - shooting right ahead of vanilla kush - vanilla kush has still not shed its shell but it is standing nearly completely upright now.

It appears someone shut off intake fan last night and the room fan, perhaps it got a touch chilly with the metal halide off and the cold night so they decided to turn it off (I can't ask them they are asleep) - It was 70F when I entered the room however the metal halide had been on for 2 hours prior. good thinking because the cold night air blowing in has been causing it to get around 65 in there during lights off.

Everything else looks good pretty much the same, the sweat tooth that is under 1000w metal halide has been for the most part in the dark since my last update (its on 18/6) - The seedlings remain on 24/0 CFLS

i flicked the heat on this morning it dropped under 70 in the house.

[Mini-Update 12 hours later - 17 hours into the 6th day]

so it turns out it got to 62 in there last night so they shut the fans off - Sweat tooth leaves looking much bigger and the sprouts have made a little progress, still no new sprouts, We put 2 new sweat tooth in paper towel for germination.

Shopping for carbon filter system and air conditioner still - looking at co2 generators that will go on the propane line, we have one of those giant propane tanks.


Installed barrell for water resevoir, need to add tank heater to keep it a good temp, picked up 2x 5 gallon jugs of distilled water for a total of 9$.

well , I have been away for about 24 hours now and I still wont be back for another 10 or so but I received word that the 2 sweat tooth have grown their second set of leaves

lol yea I have a bad habbit of mixing up sweat and sweet......it is normal sweet tooth , from barneys farm
