Mini-Vert Mk. 1

A while back I built a growbox for flowering. My intent was to grow a sog or at least a couple staggered harvests together. Aside from the first batch stretching all the way to the overhead due to underpowered lighting, it's worked out well. I replaced the 250 hps I had in the box with a 400 and the stretch in now under control.
So there I was with this 250 thinking What do I do with this? Simple. Grow weed. Ok. I needed another box. Screw growing in the closet. I hate losing the storage space. So I built another, smaller box. This one will be for overflow for the big box and for sexing(growing from seed right now). This way I can keep the big box fed without risking contaminating known females with unknown new arrivals.
Since the light was a 250, I wanted the box smaller than the first. Big box is 48"x48"x30". I settled on 24"x24"x42". Also, since I went with a small footprint I went vertical, just mini. I made some diy ghetto shelves and put them 13" above the floor. Diy cooltube and 6" duct booster take care of heat and venting. Temps are consistantly 10 degrees above ambient. Intake is passive, for now, and comes through a light trap built into the base.

Outside dimensions are 24"w x24"d x 42"h. I built it out of scrap 1/2" plywood, 2x4's, and 2x2's.
Temps are ok as long as the ac is on. If it dies like mine did this weekend temps will get out of hand. Almost makes me wish I'd gone with one of those big honkin envirolite cfl's. Almost. Ac will be fixed tomorrow and the kids are loving the 250.
