Miracle Gro plant nutrients...yay or nay?

My mother gave me a canister of Miracle Gro plant nutrients...it can be used with a sprayer or manually measured and mixed with water.

It was free, and if at all possible I'd like to use it. So what do you think about using Miracle Gro to grow cannabis? Not exactly fancy, but can it produce good results?

Just wondering.

MG makes many kinds. Depends on the N-P-K. It can be done. Go way easy on it. Many people on here hate it.

always mix about 1/4 strength to begin with. like above post, MG doesn't have the best recommendation on this site, but if used cautiously there should be no problem. i used it many times like that. GL

So long as you don't over feed with it it's fine. The problem is they use a lot of urea N which burns roots rather than leaf tips when you feed to heavily. I'd rather spend a few extra dollars and go with Jack's Classic. Citrus FeED 20-10-20 is an awesome mute straight through for pot.

Right on. I think it's worth trying. I'll be manually mixing it, as I am only growing 2-3 plants, so it should be fairly simple to dilute the mixture.
How often should I feed plants?

The Miracle Grow question has been truly stabbed and left for dead on the side of the cannabis highway long ago so I would much rather address the question of 'free'. 'Free' doesn't mean that it is better than nothing, it usually just means that it is a something that someone else doesn't want and that is a very bad qualification for such a valuable plant.

I believe it's Miracle Gro all purpose plant food or something of that nature. I accidentally left it in her car...lol. It's blueish granules.

Okay, check it out: that 3 number ratio, known as the NPK ratio, shows the ratio of nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium in that order. So the African violet is 7% nitrogen, 7% phosphorus, and 7% potassium-- equal parts of each one.

When growing Mary j, you need certain nutrients at certain stages. For veg, or the first stage where the plant is simply growing bigger, you want more nitrogen. So make sure the first number is the highest. For flower, you want mostly phosphorous, and some potassium. So in the second stage, when the plant is growing buds, you want the middle number to be the highest.

You cod use the African violet, but honestly miracle grow has other ones (like the one you have) but they have different numbers. Get one that has a really high 1st number (high in nitrogen) and then get the bloom formula, its in a blue box (not purple like the African violet) and has a high second number, for phosphorous.

You can use the stuff you have, but you'll have better results with two different ones, and they are only $5.60 a piece ($11.00 total) and will last you a while. I don't mind typing this stuff out, but if you want to grow dank then you need to research some of this basic stuff. You'll thank yourself later, I promise.
