I like your grow idea and your set-up, but I'm sorry I can never condone the use of Miracle Grow for a plethora of reasons. I would strongly urge you to consider changing mediums, here is a few reasons why:

- MG is made by an evil corporation with numerous offenses on record, and contains tons of disgusting ingredients including human waste
- MG has TERRIBLE drainage and you will inevitably suffer from overwatering and roots being deprived of oxygen
- MG contains the wrong ratio of nutrients for cannabis, and even worse, contains them is a time-released form. This gives you zero control over what is being fed to your plants and when, and flushing will just release more nutrients and make things worse
-Miracle Grow is EXPENSIVE. I don't understand why people opt to use it when it is well known how poor it is for growing weed, when there are plenty of more suitable options for widely available for much cheaper. You could even make your own mix very easily for much cheaper.

It's never too late to transplant into something better, you'll be happy you did. If you go to the 'Sick Plants' section of any grow forum, you'll see that there is a high % of people there that are growing with Miracle Grow, and that's no coincidence. The medium is one of the most important aspects of your set-up, don't willingly use one of the worst options avaiable to you, or you are only limiting the potential of your grow that you work so hard for.

Just a friendly grower trying to save you some headaches :)

EDIT: Just realized that I replied to an old post and the the Miracle Grow likely fried these plants to shit already....lol. Anyhow, for any future growers considering using the crap, DON'T DO IT!!!!!! :)

I think I must disagree with Lettuce.

While I don't use Miracle Grow now, I have documented my experience with MG in my link to all my grows in my signature.

You'll be fine....just don't add nutrients until your plant heads into 12/12.

These are the posts I don't understand. Why are you recommending for someone to use a medium that is less than ideal, when there are tons of cheaper and more suitable options? And if MG is so great, why don't you use it ? ;)

My purpose of my post is to point new growers in the right direction by steering them away from crappy unethical products that tend to cause problems and moving them towards the many alternates that are ethical, cheaper, and much more suitable for growing cannabis. We should be encouraging new growers to start out with the best possible set-up that will give them the least headaches.......I hate seeing people invest hundreds of $'s on lights, genetics, fans, filters, etc. only to see them choose MG as their medium as the stuff sucks and causes so many issues.

I have several reasons for giving MG my blessings:

1. The biggest mistake most new growers make is screwing up the nutrients. Most often over-feeding and burning the crap out of their plants. With MG all one has to do is water their plants and will end up with a pretty nice plant instead of something fried or having deficiencies.

2. Miracle Grow is available just about everywhere and is a name that everyone knows. It's a soil that is very consistent regardless of where someone buys it. I've had "good soil" vary from batch to batch.

3. It's not bad soil. If someone has had problems with their grow using MG, odds are that it was a grower's mistake, not the soil.

I've grown about half a dozen plants in Miracle Grow and each time I ended up with 2-3 ounce plants. I feel new growers will be happy as shit for such a yield compared to the less than an ounce many new growers end up with after making all the mistakes that seem required with first grows.

Is Miracle Grow the best soil? No. Is it the worst soil? Hell no. I don't know if you bothered reading my grow journal on this subject and if you haven't....give it a read and get back to me. It's in my link to all my grows in my signature.

If you want to be an irresponsible consumer, that's up to you......I try to enlighten new growers and get them to start out with the best possible set-up, and that doesn't include a bullshit soil made by an evil irresponsible company. If you want to support the brutal shit Monsanto does, that's on you.
