Miracle Grow No longer a beliver.

I purchased a bag of MG ORG. (I know what nay sayers are thinking, Its been a while but Ive used MG before and had good results.) and started my seedlings, (Tomatoe of course bag tomatoes;-)) and about 32 hrs later I have gnats flying around in my room.

Never have seen them in the house for the 2 years ive lived here. Plus its cold this time of year not normally around.
Soil came from home depot and stored outside. Lesson learned I guess. I uncoverd the seeds and only tap roots So I carefully replanted in to some foxfarms. I Think they will be fine. Not to mention local grow shop just droped the price of foxfarms ocean to 12 BUcks a bag Only a buck more than MG.

So if your thinking of a cheap grow allways check grow shop 1st big box second. :wall:

any soil can get gnats, can't judge the type of soil because they will crawl in the tiniest crack
its the stores fault imo

Hate Gnats...little basters. But, like crazymanny00 said. Any soil can contain Gnats. Maybe, try Microwaving your soil for 3-5min.

Yea But its not so much the gnats to worry about its there rootsucking vampire big head haven offspring. Belive it or not but each one of those gnats (Female ones) Can lay 40 eggs in one buch and you will never know it untill its too late. Not the worst bug to have I suppose but....... BUgs are bad MMMKView attachment 2411718

I bought a couple bags of organic MG I too was over taken with gnats. I have only opened one bag, and the rest are still sealed.. I no longer use soil, but I had to for some extra seedlings, and when I went into the old bag there were no gnats. I'm wondering if you let the dirt "age" for a while. its been at least 9 months since I purchased the dirt. Then it doesn't seem to be as big of a problem.

Nope used it that day, Like I said I was iffy about it being outside but I figured with the cold latley there would be no chance of bugs but I was wrong. very wrong. I was searching google just type in M.G. Organic gnats and be amazed. So Home Depot's fault or MG's Fault I dunno good debate I supose but After transplant no signs of those little bitches.

Might be a good idea to look into critical thinking amendment.

IM not sure what you mean so I researched it and well
critical thinking:

"the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action" Dr. Wiki

It Sounds Like work........
