would mg pearlite have enough nutes in it to mess with whatever else i feed the plant? i have very limited options where i live as far as a good dirt mix. home depot and lowes only carry mg stuff which of coarse has slow release nutes in it, even the pearlite. as a guess i would say that i have about a 30% ratio of pearlite to dirt.

The perlite has nutes on it? I've bought perlite at Home Depot before and it had no additives.

I would take a look at the bag again. Perlite is supposed to be completely neutral and non-reactive.

Yeah MG perlite is crap imo. The nutes are in small amounts but any slow release nutes are hard to control. Try a local nursery or flower shop/greenhouse for just regular perlite.

You'll be fine IF you thoroughly flush the MG soil/perlite before use. Be VERY careful with nutes, as it is VERY easy to over-fertilize when using MG.
