Can u clone with miracle grow perlite? It has nutes will that burn them? I just cloned with vermiculite because I was afraid of using anything with nutes.

yea i had to change they only sell the small pucks now. I consider myself a successful cloner but I had to switch because those things suck they dry out every 12 hours. I can't find the big ones anywhere here and I have been everywhere. I just made a batch of clones in straight vermiculite I guess I will see.

is it those time release pellets ? or just general nutrients that you could just wash out. I've used both vermiculite and perlite. Perlite works better IMHO I say go for it.

just general nutes I think its like .04% nitrogen .02% phosphate .03% phosphorous. if u wash them out how just run water over them. or soak them of couse perlite floats so do they need to be under water.

That's next to nothing, a good rinse would remove it, a good idea anyways to get rid of all the fine particles.

clones that have no roots cant get nute burn and when they get roots i doubt that perlite has enough to make enough of a difference

yup, miracle gro perlite has nutes in it and it does say it on the perlite bag. I hate MG! I can't seem to find good perlite locally. The chain stores like home depot, lowes and walmart around here are stocked to the ceilings with every known MG product known to man with little other options. And of course they all only carry the 1 MG perlite in 8qt bag.

I would advise not using the MG perlite for cloning. I've used rapid rooters and peat moss pucks with success. I just planted 4 sprouted seeds in MG perlite in 12oz cups (mini hempy bucket style) about 2 weeks ago and 1 died, 1 was a autoflowering male, and the other 2 are only about are already dead. The other 2 are about 6" tall, a very pale green/yellow, and growing very slowly. They've been that way since after the first week. They've got about 5-6 nodes now, but the branches on each node are super underdeveloped.

I woulda done better if I had reused the junk soil from my last grow!
