miracle grow soil + water ONLY

Got a bagseed Im flowering right now and I had takin clones beforehand. This journal will be dedicated to one of the clones I had takin and put into miracle grow soil. The clones WERE NOT rooted in the mg soil. I meant to start this journal earlier as the plant is soon going to flower. Ill add all the info I have in the next post. The reason being for this thread is to help anyone on a lower budget learn. I've used mg soil before but added bottle nutes to it which led to it not looking so good. Regardless, I'm doing it. Pics I. Next post as well. She looks great.

I don't understand your message due to your broken English. But - I'd say Miracle Gro and water only is a bad idea because: MG is peat based and the PH is low for growing cannabis. And, MG doesn't contain some essential minerals that the plant need like Ca and Mg.

Good luck. You'll get something out of your grow - just not sure what that might be.

Soil does have some minerals in it so yes - just look for deficiencies and nute as needed. Wish you well my friend. :joint: :-P

Here's a good reason this shit kinda sucks....bugs. got a shit ton of little flyer bugs. I guess all I need is about a quarter inch of sand on the top of the exposed soil. I took a propane torch to the surface...worked well.

They're just fungus gnats - no big deal to the plant unless they annoy you. That's what you get with pretty much any peat based soil. Next time try coir - no gnats.

you should buy sticky traps at your local dollar store for the flies when your plant gets bigger they can destroy it one time i had a bunch of those suckers and fucked my whole grow up and had to restart!

I since got sand and covered the top. There's was a lot of those fuckers. Still a few but that's fine. I've always had a couple.

Yep, that's the same stuff I got. You'll have to add Magnesium. CalMag is good, or even just regular epsom salt, like 1-2 tablespoons per gallon of water. I'll veg mine for an extra month to give it time to catch up on my stunted growth due to me not realizing the soil lacked Magnesium. That red stem should work itself out, if it's not too late, but you'll want to get rid of any leaves that have red stemmed if they don't start to recover.

I actually have a follow up on the Miracle Grow issue. Not only will you have to add magnesium, but I found out it's lacking in boron, manganese, and copper as well. All trace minerals that are required in low doses and even if you don't see red stem or even discoloring or curling of the leaves, you still can have stunted growth, or a lower THC yield. What I'm experimenting with is adding some 24-8-16 all purpose fertilizer (miracle grow makes some or $1 cheaper is vigoro, which both can be found at home depot). I'm starting with 1/2 strength and adding epsom salt to that mixture as well (2 tablespoons of epsom salt per gallon of water), and then every other watering I'm just using my epsom salt water mixture without vigoro because there is nitrogen in the soil already cause it's MG soil. I'll probably post a follow up later.

People always give MG crap and say all these horrible thing about their products and maybe some of it is true idk, but i've used MG all my life as i started growing veggies since i was 8, had my own little garden and everything, and MG has been a very good to my plants and especially my vegetable gardens. I've tried all these other products popular among cannabis growers and was suppose to be better then anything on this planet, but my plants in my MG/Coir mixture would outdo them.

hey guys sry its been awhile. i killed her and then threw her into my wood stove . she stopped growing and the stem was deep purple. mg soil is tricky for a flawless grow.
