Miracle Grow ?????

I love all these thread, Its funny I use Miracle grow in all my grows now and have great results. I use the Moisture control potting mix due to a good nute balance in it and it holds moisture great while draining well almost eliminating over or under watering or any problems with the "timed released" nutes. I let two plants sit in this soil for two - three weeks with no water and no light and they survived and are now outside growing wonderfully. Now I do add a good organic bloom booster during flower but thats it.

Kind of makes you think, you can find multiple examples of proffesionals using MG soil and/or ferts in their grows with success....then you have this random heresay rants of people bashing MG and blaming it for destroying their grow but they never have any evidence to back it up really...untill I see some controlled experiment on here I am hesistent to disown any MG product untill then but I am trying my best to avoid using any of it...I am in the process of doing some controlled expirment with it in my own grow setup so perhaps I can witness the difference myself.

Ultimately I think it is important to have good control over the nutes your plants receive and I think doing the soil you take some of your control away so I think this is the the main reason people avoid the soil.

I agree Im not saying Miracle grow is the best or what have you. Its not at all, but it is a cheap easy to get and low maintenance alternative for someone like myself that just likes to fill a 5 gal bucket, put the plant in and just water from time to time, then maybe add a lil extra nutes for flower and be done with it and get good results.

i swear by the soil! MG moisture control is awesome... i use 4 parts mgmc, 1 part mushroom compost, 1 part 50/50 cow shit, 2 arts perlite. i love perlite... i use a lot so it will drain fast as hell and keeps a lot of air in the soil...

why go cheap, when the payout in taste alone is worth it. you are growing the most valuable plant on earth, when done right. you are gonna get your money's worth or your efforts worth. there are metals in your water. i doubt anyone using MG for ANY reason is using reverse osmosis and even if you do, all you really need is a little CalMag. The soil also should have trace minerals. Store bought nutes are pricey and you can make them yourself with some effort, but you get what you put into it like anything in life.

I use MG soil, MG veg nutes both foliar and in the soil and switch to Jack's Classic Bloom from Agway and my shit is nice. Everybody shit's on MG but I don't see spending twice as much money because people say their way is right. Keep doing what you do and switch when it doesn't work anymore. I would water heavier and less frequently though. Also try mixing 1/4 tsp. MG, 30ml of hydrogen peroxide and 1 gallon of water and foliar feed daily with a light spraying and water fairly heavily every other day with the same mixture and I guarantee better growth just by adding the light foliar spraying.

and using MG isnt a right way? so what you are saying is its wrong to use it and i cant get tasty bud??? what ever... its just that most people use it while they are learning and shitty teachers are blaming the students lack of experience on the soil when clearly i grow tasty pot and i use MG soil... and why go cheap? some of us arent silver spoon fed rich boys and cant offord it...

^ most these ppl would be surprised how many times they have smoked some killer bud that was grown in MG... Some of the dankiest shit I have ever smoked was grown by a redneck that didnt know anything about advanced growing. He would just plant em in MG and water then harvest..... Potency, smell, taste etc... is like 98% genetics all you pull off by advanced growing techniques is maybe higher yield and slight better taste from flushing and curing properly.

And this is why i am leavin' this site. I am NOT a fuckin' rich kid. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN NUTES!! If you put in the bare minimum. you get the bare minimum. While you are flushing your chem out, i am still pumping my organic nutes and increasing my yield, which SAVES you money in the long run. Lights and nutes are where you SHOULD spend your dough if you are gonna.

p.s. I am a MEDICAL GROWER. Get it? . I live in the NW and what you pay for High Grade, I'd bet i'm smokin' as mids. And as such a provider I would NEVER recommend chem for soil or hydro. Just like i don't recommend people smoke tobacco. Do whatever you want, but don't deny the difference in results just because you are cheap. Once again, make 'em yourself.

plants take up nute as ions
N is absorbed as NH4+ or as NO3
P is absorbed as H2PO4 or HPO4-2
K is absourbed as K+

wether from shit piss fish or the blue stuff... it all turns into the same thing at the roots... youre just jumpimg on a tree hugging band wagon to dis MG

if not...

all nute contained in any orgainic source remain unavailible for crop use untill the matirial is decomposed (mineralized) or salts

whats inside the plant isnt what you put in the soil per say, there are no shit particles or MG particles inside the plants tissues...

like i said its a tree hugging band wagon trying to make money off of people....

i have a feeling that some people want to be a part of something larger than them selves... nothing is as selfless as wanting to save the planet.. and if people would just say the way MG was made was bad for the earth i would have so much more respect for them than just saying MG is a bad fert or no good grower uses it... and the striving force deep inside to grow the best weed leaves some of us vonerable to businessmen with a little knowledge and a lot of sales skills.... bottom line... stick with what works for you bc that is the right way... what ever works for you...

ive always used mg soil and if u think its shit then go and have a look at my pics in my album. i grow with organic nutes(biobizz range) and i average 4 oz a plant, even pulled 7 oz from one once(probably a fluke though). never ever had nute burn.....but then again im not a fuckin idiot and i pay attention to my plants. and i dont spend fucking tons of money on fuckin snake oil potions; bio grow £10 bio bloom £10 and sum tins of molasses.
