has anyone ever done this? is there any reason why you wouldn't use mirrors instead of Mylar or white paint or anythign else. i mean to get the most reflection, wouldn't you want to use the most reflective material? seems like a mirror would work great.

Quite simple, glass absorbs more light than it reflects. Even the glass on an air cooled hood takes away a lot of light. The less glass the better.....

If a mirror worked, you could light a candle, put it between 2 mirrors and you would have infinite lumens.

yup...mirrors suck for light reflection, but are great if you wanna make sure you have no boogers in your nose!

Mirrors are bad for light reflection for plants because they create heat spots and can burn your plant. Also, they absorb more light then they reflect

Stick with Mylar IMO

I like so many others are here to get information. All your questions are good ones. Answers might not always be the best (unless you got boogers) LOL. Seriously keep posting questions and thinking outside the box. Overall, there are so many who have HUGE amounts of experience who are willing to share. Through decades of trial & error I suggest following in the steps of those that preceeded you and then fine tuning to meet your specific needs. You won't go wrong there I promise!
