have you tried a paint stir that goes on a drill? (there about a foot long metal bit with a spiral at the bottom). i was going to try it but it was faster to mix by hand then go look for it.

that paint mixer for a drill sounds like a great idea.. if you don't have one, i am sure you could do a simple diy for yourself with no problem... i wish i had thought of it myself before i did it with hand and nade a huge ole mess in the process.. great idea with the mixer..

just get a big plastic washing up basin or container and use a cup to take soil and perlite to pour in to the tub/basin.
i mix mine with 4 cups of soil and 2 cups of perlite and mix it by hand.
to much perlite as in a 50/50 mix restricts root groeth as the roots cant grow through the perlite and have to grow around them instead looking for the soil.
mix it so its around 65% soil and 35% perlite and thats perfect for water retention/drainage/air and root growth.

take a basin or bucket add soil and perlite and mix by hand.

that's funny as he'll i was just talking about a tumbler..anyhow no easy way (i have done this inside many times) huge trap..dump the perlite first spread then the soil it will mix easier in that order soil is heavier so when raked oh ya you need a rake! rake well pull trap towards you from each side and you will have a nice pre mixed pile..has worked well for me over the years...and if you get a tumbler look me up!

My way probably takes longer, but I just mix it by hand, as I'm filling the pots. Like every so many cups of soil, I'll add a cup of perlite, and run my fingers through it to mix.:peace:

i usually mix one 3 gal grow bag at a time. 2.5gal organic soil, .5 gal perlite in a 30 gallon drum. if your gonna grow some herb, get yo hands dirty c'mon. this is my favorite part of the cycle (other than flowering). you can get in that shit and give it some love. i like playing in dirt though.....

i cut the top off a gallon jug. 2.5 gal soil .5 gal perlite. mix in a big container and pot. it allows me to sift through the soil thoroughly and pull out nightcrawlers and break down balls of soil.
