Molasses vs Big Bud vs Purple Maxx

I want to run a comparison between flower enhancers. Right now I am thinking Molasses vs Purple Maxx/ Gravity vs Big Bud/ OverDrive (advanced nutrients). Has anyone conducted or seen similar tests?

i dont think moloassas is even in the same ballpark as those other ones. iv heard great things about BIG BUD. im going to buy it and see how it does...

yeah i was fixing to ask a very similar question on this. I don't even know if molassas helps that much really, was wondering if anyone has done a side by side comparision with molassas and no molassas. and another question, does mollassas change the taste of your bud? make it any sweeter or anything?

ive had grows with and without molasses but never with the same strain and grow so i really can't back anything up. but a very very respected member of this forum al b fuct says molasses does nothing for our plants and has data to back it up. i did notice that the bud was a lil sweeter and not so harsh when i used molasses but again i never had a grow of the same strain where i gave some plants molasses and the others no molasses.

i have a small tester bottle of purple max, i have andvances nutes, genral hydro, and a bottle of super thrive, im not going to mess with my first crop, but i have 3 unknown strains, so maby starting second crop ill try all 4 of them on all 3 plants, and do a big expearament, and let everyone here decide, so keep an eye out in december for the experament to start

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but i was searching on grows done with Purple Maxx n Gravity, and apparently there isnt too much data on the products. I personally just picked up two 8 oz bottles - one PM n one G. I had a watering scheduled for today with my girls, and instead of a regular pure water watering, i took the oppurtunity to flush with 2 gallons of water, as opposed to a full out flush - just so i could get anything excess out of the soil more or less, and then i fed each plant with 3/4 of a gallon of water, with the recommended dose of Purple Maxx.

Next feeding ill be cutting my nutes back by 1/2, and ill work my way back up until i find what my ladies like. Ill be using the Maxx for every feeding, and then finish up by using the Gravity in one dose 2 weeks before harvest. Ill either wait until 1 week before chop to do my final flush, or just do it as im supposed to do, only flush first, and then one small dose of gravity to finish up the nugs.

If you guys dont mind, i would like to use this thread as my record of the test, as well as my regular grow journal - i just wanna do it in a separate thread, so anyone looking to use Purple Maxx in the future will have this as a reference point for their grow.

So let me post this, and then ill do my first entry into the test.

Ok. So i am 2 weeks into flowering my

2 Big Bhudda Blue Cheese
1 White Berry
1 Northern Soul
1 Twilight (lost one to the Hermie Factor)

I also have in its early stages

2 Seedsman White Widow
1 Barneys Farm Red Diesel (to replace the Twilight)
But i wont be doing anything with these obviously for now, because the Red Diesel is only in its 1st week of veg, and the WWs are in their 2nd week. The WWs will go for one more week, and then put into flower, and i dont want them to get crazy tall. The breeders recommend to veg these for only 2-3 weeks if i want them to stay under 5 feet, lol.

Nutrients i have been using:

Ive been using The Fox Farm line of nutes - Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom, along with Molasses, and i did a couple waterings using a sploosh of Blue Mountains Super Plant tonic.

During veg i fed the plants Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Molasses, with once again, a couple waterings with the SPT.

First week of bloom i did the same veg nutes, and just last nutrient feeding i switched over to Tiger Bloom, Big bloom, and molasses. i cut the SPT in anticipation of using the Purple Maxx.

Today was my Watering day with no nutrients. I took the oppurtunity to Flush the plants with 2 gallons of water, to just more or less clear out the soil of any residual salts, so i dont burn the plant with the PM (apparently its really easy to burn them when using this shit -- LESS IS MORE). I then proceeded to dose up the plants with 1/2 tsp of PM per gal, feeding each plant 3/4 gal.

Ill throw up a couple of pics that i took 3 days ago of the girls. At the time they were all around 14 to 17 inches in varying height. Now they are around 16-20 inches, nearing the end of the two week stretch. Sorry that these pics are not from today, but i was in a hurry kinda when i watered, so i didnt take the time to snap off anything for everyone.

Once again, i hope you guys dont mind me using this thread as a point of reference for people. Just lemme know if it gets annoying, lol. Tomorrow when the lights come back on, ill snap some more pics throughout the course of the day as i take each one out to inspect for any changes, as far as hermies go, or anything unwanted like burn, or anything like that. Well see if theres some instant results, which ive actually read that the reaction really is almost instant with the increased calyx and resin production. If not, in 4 days when i give an actual nutrient feeding, ill dose them again with the Maxx, along with my regular nutrient regimen, only itll be cut back by 1/2, and well go from there. Im really early into flowering, so im not really expecting anything drastic so quick, but you never do know with some shit, lol. This is supposedly still "experimental", but its been on the market for 2 years now which is pretty fuckin funny to me, lol.

I am also thinking about foliar feeding my twilight plant with the stuff, as its said that 1/3 of the Maxx's users have reported that it actually helps your plants turn purple, and its most effective when used on a plant with a purple pheno thats not nessecarily dominant.

thanks for reading everyone n anyone that does, lol. Ill keep this as updated as i can, as fast as i can.

I am also using Excellofizz Co2 pucks when my tent gets above 82 degrees. I am hoping that this will have a positive effect on the grow, because co2 only works with plants growing in high temps. I hope the temps are high enough in this case. It does dip down to around 74 degrees at night, but im not worried about that. I was thinking about using the co2 at night when there was more room in the tent (i keep my WWs down in the tent during the light cycle, and move them up to my CFL cab when the lights go out in the tent. ) , but like i said, co2 is more effective during hotter temps, so im using it during the day. They are the newer pucks with the 8 hour release, rather than the smaller 6 hour release pucks.

Puple max is organic but it increases the nute uptake so leaves can and will show signs of nute overdose unless as mentioned you flush and reduce nutrients. Purplemaxx increases the purpleness of stems going to fan leaves and the stem. PurpleMaxx is not a product to increase tyhe color tho it is a product that increases the crystal production of the plants. I am growing 5 super silver hazes and 2 Thai super skunk.
Gravity helps alot i gave 3 ssh's 1tsp grav/1gallon water. this process you are supposed to repeat but i never did. These 3 ssh's that were fed have bigger fatter buds and more developed than the other 2. I just gave the other 2 SSH's and the 2 Thais The other recommended doseage 2Tsp grav/1 gallon water. I will report how this goes and let yall know. I would put up pics but no way to get them on this comp.

These products do work very well if you use them right. after using p max reduce nutes raise lights and flush. continue flushing to the end and add gravity in the last 3 weeks.

I am growing in soil in 5g buckets

I have been using Molasses since the babies were about 1 month old with every watering (package says it's safe to do so). But, looking at the nutrient information on the bottle... it seems to me to be just a regular low concentration nute feeding.

You know, just enough nutes to keep things going and green. Kinda like a person taking thier daily vitamin. No spectacular results, just regular maintanince.

I also am trying to go strictly organic this time. So... my plan is to hit them with some high P Level Bat guano at the beginning of the 12/12 cycle and try to find a "daily supplement" (or every few days actually) that is higher in P but not as high as the Bat guano. That way with every watering a boost of P is given. Guess we'll see...

Either way; the molasses won't do much for the budding in my opinion.
