Mold on drying buds..!!

Hi guys, I have been trying to read up on Mold issues (or do some people call it Powdery mildew.??) but it all seems to be when the plant is growing/flowering.. I have read of a few treatments e.g a milk/water mix.. etc But my question is what happens if it gets on buds during drying..?? Can these be treated or is it best to bite the bullet and throw any affected ones out. Even if it is quite a lot..???Thanks... :wall:

Heard one guy say that he could clear the mold with his subcritical co2 extractor probably not something all of us could afford.

that sucks big time...it's all gonna be fucked up in no time. Jorge Cervantes actually goes as far as washing the plant but I know that spreads like crazy. A dehumidifier takes care of mold susceptible strains.

a dehumidifier, pruning.... opening up the plant so air can pass threw it... of course increased air flow {fans} help... outdoors not much you can do... shake off ur plants well when it rains heavily... use serenade/greencure has a preventive measure before you see mold or it is forcasted to rain for a few days and your halfway or more into bloom.. that and just try to grow mold resistant strains or mold resistant pheno types in certain strains.. generally though in an indoor setting if u can keep you humidity under 50% and always have fresh air and good airflow u wont have these issues

Thanks for replies.. Never get it during growing, just once drying starts.. The room I have not sure if it should be warmer or colder.. I always have airflow.. Sucks big time..!!! Oh well.. Shit happens..!!

Only while drying? Then your environment is too humid..you need a dehumidifier! What are the RH levels in the drying spot?

also if you cut each branch individually when harvesting and trim the sugar leaves down, it will be better in your case I believe!

Did you make sure your buds/containers were not moist at all, i messed up few years ago by rushing and i put them in jars to early and everything but my cola grew mold, nothing you can do but throw it out, do not try smoking and do not pass it on...once the mold is on your final product its not comming off, sorry! Find out why/source of why this happened and chalk it up as a learning process :/

Yeah I think I may have to look into humidifier, I try to balance costs of electricity out also, but it's a no brainer to spend a bit more and not chuck it in the bin..!! :(

You are either discovering Grey or yellow mold upon your buds as powdery mildew needs a living host verses molds that only need organic matter . As mentioned RH and air flow are going to be the most critical factors along with temp while properly drying cannabis .

As well you may have been on the verge of bud rot , it will surface as mold if harvested before it thoroughly sets in . I hate to admit it but my largest yielding strains are most prone to this due to the mass and moisture content being trapped within the flowers themselves .:leaf:

it would be a dehumidifier and it may also be a good idea to get a humidity / temperature thing just so you know where ur at
