Ok gang I couldn't find much in the archives so I'm asking this question. How do I remove mold from the outside of my grow tent? I recently bought a new grow tent but it is too small so I decided to get the old tent out of the Rubbermaid it was stored in. Long story short it has some mold on it and I need to know how to get rid of it. I'm sure someone has run into this problem before. The tent is too nice too throw away and I cant really afford to buy another. Any help you give me would be most appreciated.

Bleach and water ..... 1 cup bleach to 1 gallon water ... kills the mold and removes "most" of the blackness, wash with soap and water after.

happy growing

DO NOT use bleach it creates a chemical composition in the air that is toxic

the combination is white vinegar and water

bleach also DOES NOT kill mold that is an old wives tale it literally BLEACHES it , its still there but white so you cant tell

I appreciate the help I didn't want to post this question because I didn't want it to sound stupid but I figured if any one would know it would be fellow growers.

i wouldnt advise putting it int he wash, you dont want mold spores ending up iny our clothes or on your skin, make sure to wear gloves and a facemask when you clean it mold is a serious thing

Well I went to a launder mat that had commercial size washing machines and 50 pound capacity dryers it cost me roughly $8.00 to wash the tent I put about a pint of white vinegar and a load size box of tide in the washer. It come out looking brand new I had no problems with the washer or dryer I was concerned it might get tore up but it didn't. All together it cost me about $10 to wash and dry and now I know where I can take it in the future. Thanks for the help I appreciate it.

The following link gives some good suggestions on how to rid yourself of mold without heavy toxins potentially damaging to your plants. Personally I use White Vinegar (1 cup to a gallon of water) and Hydrogen Peroxide (10% mixture) use rubber gloves.
http://www.maids.com/blog/3-non-toxic-ways-to-clean-mold/ p.s Bleach does kill Mold, however it works best on hard surfaces, problem with fabrics is it only kills surface mold, so the above post stating bleach does not kill mold is correct in this application. Regardless you are better off using non-toxic substances whenever possible...

Hey guys! So I had the exact same rubbermaid problem last harvest. It was our first run and we werent sure if it was auto flowering or not so we figured there was no harm in trying to clone even if it would just die with the mama. Anyway so I didnt realize until the end that the little baby canopy of what was a clone of an autoflowering plant (oh well) didnt get enough air circulation and some mold grew underneath it. So, long story short, I meticulously harvested looking for any signs on the others and there wasn't. I didnt think it was related to the rubbermaid mold outbreak but I'm wondering if im naive to think that...

Half of the tent was stored in a closet with some other materials and there is zero PM on any of that. Is it possible that the PM on the part of the tent in the rubbermaid was from some of the other materials that were also stored in the container and it wasnt the clone mold?

Anyway, sorry for the novel, my main question was: After you do spray on your mixture of white vinegar and water (or i might add in the hydrogen peroxide, too - havent decided yet) do you just leave that mixture on the tent? Or do you then wipe it down with soap and water and then water like people who suggest doing 50/50 bleach (dont worry im not doing that.) And do you just let it air dry? is it safe to just set the tent up and let it air dry like that?
