mold ?

is it possible to get moldy soil? i have a seedling under t-5's in promix hp, and it appears like there is a little white substance on the top surface of the soil?? how do i remedy this?

I had some nice 6 feet tall ladies growing outside in pots and I made the mistake of adding some old soil to top of the pot...

It caused stem rot and I lost both of my plants.

I think mulch would have been a better idea. And will help you to.

i had the same problem with my soil
make sure you're letting the soil completely dry out in between waterings. i added about a Tblsp. of bleach to about 16oz of water and sprayed the top of the soil with it mold went right away just becareful not to spray the plant. hydrogen peroxide can be used also

yeah just be very careful not to spray the plant, this is where some prefer hydrogen peroxide but as long as you're careful ive found that bleach works better

I don't think you want to add bleach to your watering if I'm reading your response correctly. You want to put the bleach in a spray bottle and shield your plant and spray the soil surface. You can also skim the soil surface away1/2 inch down, treat the next layer down and then replace it with a fresher top layer and make sure you let your soil dry out andh avea fan going at all times to circulate the air around your plant.

i probably didnt make it clear enough but yeah, definately dont add bleach to your watering, use a spray bottle

sprinkle some cinnimon aroudn the base of ur plant on the soil then water as usual and sprinkle a lil more works for me everytime
