Mold

Just chopped the last of outdoor over the weekend... I was expecting 13-14 lbs... Its goba be half that... All the big colas on half the plants have the dreaded white fuzz inside from the stalk to halfway thru the bud.. Even found a few live caterpillars while trimming the stuff that's been hanging 10 days... This blows ..the bud looks amazing and is useless...or is it? ?

In the past I toss this in garbage ..I don't mind losing 10-12% of crop..I use no sprays or anything but half is nuts ..can I run this stuff through my bubble bags? Its super frosty and oily.

You can run the moldy bud through your bubble bags. You just have to add another step or two in the cleaning process. Take your heads that collect on the bottom of your bags, and rather than put them onto a pad or w/e to dry a bit, put them into a jar full of water and shake. Allow everything to settle and dump the water out. You may need 2 or 3 rinses but the water will pull the remaining spores out of the hash and all the heads will settle to the bottom.

Exactly why I don't do outdoor anymore. Too much risk for half to be moldy.

This is the worst its ever hit me, many years I lose a couple ounces which is nothing, I never ran any of these strains outdoors n took a chance..it backfired. And it was really crappy weather ... Heavy fog almost nightly .. So heavy you couldn't see more than a few feet with a flashlight.

Reminds me of the battles our NW US brothers have every year in OR and WA.

Coot used to stick with neem, worm compost, silica, etc all to keep the plants SARS immune response on high alert and he would be able to produce with no mold; a big deal in that part of the world with PM

And I'm really sorry to hear this, buddy

That article was great.. If you look on the comment section like 4-5 messages deep ... There is a link to a peer reviewed study from the wine making industry.. It shows a 30 second wash @ 30% Ethanol @ 40 degrees celcius achieved a complete inhibition of ALL fungal spores... And they " cultured" the grapes afterward to see if anything could still live.. It was completely dead.
