Moldy apartment

Hi. So I just moved into this apartment a few months ago and it has a moldy smell. There's a big portion of the cieling that looks done over, maybe there was water damage there. Also when I sit on the toilet I hear a squish from under it. So I'm not really sure what to do. I was planning to buy an AC for summer but now I'm stuck deciding between an air purifier or a dehumidifier. I can only really afford one right now. The squishing under the toilet worries me most, there's no telling what's down there so maybe a dehumidifier will be fighting a losing battle? So maybe an air purifier would at least keep spores out of the air for my girls.

Any suggestions here? Thanks.

Any ideas? I'm leaning toward the air purifier bc at least that will help me breathe cleaner air, but dehumidifier sure would help on summer days.

Get the dehumidifier, your harvest will be better. That squishing sound in toilet? something down there? carefull, could get your balls ripped off.

I grabbed a dehumidifier 50 pint which in turn made me need an AC. It puts off alot of heat but pulls gallons out of the air. Its off until my ac arrives. Hopefully if I dry the hell out of this place the mold will die off. Its going to be fun balancing an AC and dehumidifier in this little studio apartment.
