This moon thing sounds crazy, but my grandfather was a farmer and he followed the moon. The Farmer's Almanac is a great thing to have. It has the phases of the moon and how to work it into your garden. Actually there is a whole page in the Almanac describing how the phases of the moon affect certain plants and growth. When the moon is a new moon and growing larger it helps root growth. When it is a full moon and decreasing it helps vegetative growth. TAKE NOTE: It may be the opposite. But the point is that there are certain phases that can help you with your plants specific needs.
